A tragic incident occurred off the coast of Sicily in the early hours of the morning, as a luxury yacht sank after being hit by a severe storm. The ‘Bayesian’ vessel was carrying 22 passengers, with 15 being rescued in stable condition, but the fate of six others remains unknown.
The passengers and crew onboard were of various nationalities, including British, American, and Canadian. Among them was British tech magnate Mike Lynch, who is still missing. Witnesses described the terrifying moment when the 56-metre-long boat capsized, leaving people scrambling for safety.
Captain Karsten Borner was one of the first responders on the scene, rescuing individuals from a life raft, including a one-year-old child. Divers are currently searching the area around the sunken vessel, which now lies at a depth of approximately 50 meters.
