Doug Ford Ordered to Disclose Personal Phone Records in Landmark Ruling
In a significant ruling that underscores the ongoing tensions between privacy and transparency in politics, an Ontario court has ordered Premier Doug Ford to hand over his personal phone records. This decision, which emerged on Monday, is rooted in a protracted struggle initiated by Global News, which has been fighting for access to communications related to government affairs that Ford conducted using his personal device.
The legal battle began when Global News sought to obtain logs of calls made from Ford’s personal phone, a request that was initially denied by the provincial government. In response to the government’s refusal, Global News escalated the matter to the Information and Privacy Commissioner, who ultimately determined that the premier’s private phone records are, in fact, part of the public record. This ruling marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing discussion about the accountability of public officials and the extent to which their private communications should be subjected to public scrutiny.
Despite the court’s decision, Ford has made it clear that he intends to appeal the ruling, outlining his stance on the matter and emphasizing his belief in the right to privacy. This appeal will further prolong the battle over transparency in the provincial government, as advocates for open governance continue to press for accountability among elected officials.
The implications of this ruling reach far beyond Ford’s personal records; they touch on a broader debate about the use of personal devices by public officials in conducting government business. As the case evolves, it raises critical questions about the ethical obligations of politicians in maintaining transparency and the public’s right to know.
Queen’s Park Bureau Chief Colin D’Mello provides in-depth coverage of the unfolding situation, as the legal ramifications of this decision unfold, further illuminating the intersection of privacy rights and public interest in Ontario’s political landscape.

He's not leaving office. His lawyers will make it go away.
Usually if they have to say "they can't be influenced", means they are being influenced.

And while your at it disclosure Carney's total investments(amount) in his off shore account just to make sure if its billions and all being invested in America, it gets tax in Canada first! Canada's would like to know!
Hey Dougie,

Open Letter to Premier Doug Ford: Priorities, Not Posturing
To Premier Doug Ford and the People of Ontario,
I am writing to express my profound concern regarding the Premier’s recent rhetoric and actions. It is my belief that this government is prioritizing political optics over the actual safety of our children and the stability of our communities.
1. Hands Off Our Police Services
For decades, Ontario’s police services have operated with professional independence. We do not need politicians interfering with proven law enforcement methods or using police identities for political branding.
Political Overreach: By frequently appearing in OPP apparel and positioning himself as the face of law enforcement, Premier Ford undermines the independence of our police.
Respect the Professionals: Our officers are trained experts who can do their jobs without political interference. Premier Ford, you are a politician, not a police officer. It is time to take off the uniform, stop being a "mouthpiece," and let the police be the police.
2. Fund What Matters, Not What Polling Suggests
A politician’s job is to govern and provide the resources necessary for a healthy society. We are calling for an immediate shift in priorities:
Stop the Cuts: Instead of political grandstanding, we need the government to stop cutting funding to the essential services that keep our neighborhoods stable.
Address the Real Crises: We need urgent, measurable action on the issues that actually affect our daily lives:
The Housing Crisis: Ensuring every Ontarian has a safe, affordable place to call home.
Skyrocketing Food Costs: Ensuring no family goes hungry while corporate profits soar.
3. A Call for Accountability
These actions do not protect Ontario; they endanger it. Using public safety as a backdrop for a campaign is a betrayal of the public trust. I intend to pursue every legal avenue available to hold the Premier accountable for rhetoric that puts lives at risk.
Bottom Line: We need leaders who protect our communities by fixing the economy, housing, and food security—not leaders who use our police services as a political prop.
SHARE THIS if you believe it is time for politicians to stay in their lane, respect police independence, and focus on your grocery bill and your rent.
why didnt he just use a work phone then . what are you hiding premier?
What about Carney & Trudeau, did they do this ?
You are not above the law
I agree, order every politician ever to give up records. Trudeau, carney and al the other lib criminals
HOLD FORD ACCOUNTABLE… 🇨🇦
Premier Ford is the biggest @$$clown 🤡 in Canada 🍁
Mark Carney & Pierre Poilievre & other oppositions is something else.
Liberals want control
We need to vote this man out, same as Trump. Law doesn't apply to him!
I don’t believe him. He’s a politician and that says it all. !
good idea he's a crook and needs to be stopped
What's Dougie got to hide?
I will give an exception to Doug Ford as the only premier I can trust to help Canada fend off Trump and his administration. Doug Ford can keep his Phone to do what he needs to do to stop Trump.
Ford is waste of money for tax payers. just look at health care and education. He is not for the common people, he is for the people who are his buddies. Get him out of office.
A message from gods knights, more and more TRUE COLOURS of the you believed you could trust!! It’s funny how all these politicians forget once they’re in office who they actually work for ?? YOU🫵 ( NOT THE CABAL THEY ALL SET UP ACROSS THE WESTERN WORLD ) TO HOLD ON TO POWER FOR THEMSELVES AND DESTROY ANY CHALLENGE TO THEIR UNI PARTIES OF CONTROL.
