Insurance companies are facing backlash from patients who are finding their claims for cancer screenings and treatments rejected at an alarming rate. According to a recent report by NBC News’ Stephanie Gosk, more and more patients are being denied coverage for these essential medical procedures.
The rising number of rejections is causing concern among patients and healthcare professionals alike, as early detection and treatment are crucial in fighting cancer. Some patients have reported being denied coverage for procedures such as mammograms, colonoscopies, and chemotherapy, despite having documented medical need.
Many patients are struggling to understand why their claims are being denied, with some accusing insurance companies of prioritizing profits over patient care. Some experts suggest that the increasing denials may be due to cost-cutting measures by insurance companies, as they seek to minimize their expenditures on healthcare services.
Healthcare advocates are calling for greater transparency and accountability from insurance companies to ensure that patients receive the care they need to fight cancer. They argue that denying coverage for essential screenings and treatments puts patients’ lives at risk and undermines the goal of providing quality healthcare for all.
As the debate over insurance coverage for cancer treatments continues, it is clear that the issue is far from resolved. Patients are left to navigate a complex and often frustrating system that can have life-altering consequences. It remains to be seen how insurance companies will respond to the growing outcry from patients and healthcare professionals demanding better access to essential cancer care.

If he runs for President I will vote for Luigi
But we're supposed to care if ceos get offed?
Meanwhile we have to live down here with the rest of us. All those CEO's busy buying their 5th mansion.
and you wonder why Americans are livid 😡 😡 at the Insurance industry! ZERO empathy, ZERO compassion, ALL profits
Congress need to pass a law if a certain number years pass and no injuries or illness come about a person should get refunded the insurance money they put into it. Same with auto insurance and home insurance!
Look at the stock prices of insurance companies!!!! This is why they outperform the market. Thanks Obamacare for selling us out to them.
This should infuriate everyone! Strides are being made in treating cancer and yet people can’t access treatments because the companies don’t consider they’re not medically necessary! This IS NOT RIGHT!
They’re trading lives for money and I done know why.
The blessed Saint Luigi we pray for copycats! Amen
Being American worst than Palestinian.
All insurance companies collect outrageous monthly premiums, then leave you to dry (and some cases die).
no surprise my dad was denied kemo a few times 😑. Please get well
Deny, delay, depose.
Remember everybody. Insurance companies profit off letting you and your loved ones die.
美國人真可憐, 台灣健保給付90%!
the insurance companies ARE CRIMINALS.
I guess the insurance companies didn’t get the hint.
Buy wasn't the ACA Obama authored medical reform supposed to fix this???? Gee, why isn't heath care fixed in this country?
Remember, these companies commonly use advertising narratives that claim to care about you and your family. They tell you that your health and well-being is very important to them.
But, then there is the truth. They don't really care about people.. they care about profit. They use the lie of caring about you to make money. Evil.. nothing more, nothing less.
Free Luigi
Denying claims is wrong. These insurance companies should be getting sued
How???? And why is this allowed.
❤❤❤❤❤🤗
I mean, who would think that a person who miraculously thankfully recovered from stage 4 breast cancer should get regular screening to make sure the cancer doesn’t come back? It’s gone right you don’t need to keep looking for it. This is why people hate insurance companies. It’s because of incidents like this where clearly this woman needs this type of care, but she was denied despite every oncologist in the world who would say yes she should be tested for the rest of her life to make sure this doesn’t come back. Or heaven forbid if it does, we want to catch it immediately. You would think the insurance company would want their patient to be as healthy as possible to live as long as possible, but it doesn’t seem that way.
