President Zelensky urges Russia to ‘stop attacking’ Ukraine after air strikes

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has issued a strong message to Russia, demanding they “stop attacking” Ukraine following a series of air strikes. Zelensky’s plea comes after over 1,050 attack drones, nearly 1,300 bombs, and more than 20 missiles were launched at Ukraine in the past week alone, with Kharkiv being targeted overnight.

The situation in Ukraine has prompted UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer to announce a four-point plan to collaborate with Ukraine in efforts to end the war and protect the country from further attacks by Russia. This follows a week of intense diplomatic discussions in the US and Europe, including a tense exchange between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump and Vice-President JD Vance in the Oval Office on Friday.

In response to the events in the White House, Russia has criticized Zelensky for what they describe as “a total lack of diplomatic ability.” The tensions between Ukraine and Russia continue to escalate, with Zelensky urging Russia to cease their attacks and engage in peaceful talks instead.

The ongoing conflict in Ukraine remains a critical issue of concern, with the international community closely monitoring developments in the region. For more updates and in-depth coverage of this story, visit www.bbc.com/news.
