In a fiery session in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi took aim at two of India’s biggest industrialists, Adani and Ambani, labeling them as ‘A1’ and ‘A2,’ respectively. The Congress leader accused the billionaire businessmen of wielding immense power and influence over the government, at the expense of the common man.
Gandhi’s scathing remarks come amidst growing concerns over crony capitalism in India, with Adani and Ambani often being cited as prime examples of the cozy relationship between big business and politics. The Congress leader accused the two industrialists of receiving preferential treatment from the ruling government, allowing them to amass wealth and power at the expense of the Indian people.
Gandhi also took aim at Union Minister Kiren Rijiju, accusing him of taking top-level orders from Adani and Ambani. The Congress leader claimed that the government was working in the interests of a select few billionaires, rather than the welfare of the entire population.
The heated exchange in Parliament highlights the ongoing tensions between the opposition and the ruling government over issues of economic inequality and corporate influence in politics. As the debate rages on, it is clear that the issue of crony capitalism will continue to be a major point of contention in Indian politics.
