The world is experiencing a dangerous heatwave as temperatures continue to soar, with Monday, July 22, breaking the record for the hottest day on record for the second consecutive day. This surpasses Sunday’s record, according to preliminary data from a European Union monitoring agency.
This alarming trend highlights the growing concern over climate change and its impact on global temperatures. The extreme heat not only poses a threat to human health, but also has devastating effects on the environment, leading to droughts, wildfires, and other natural disasters.
As we witness the effects of this heatwave, it is crucial for governments and individuals to take action to address climate change and work towards a sustainable future. Only by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and implementing measures to mitigate the impact of rising temperatures can we hope to prevent further record-breaking heatwaves in the future.

Here in Canada even with massive forest fires, I don't see any rush to adapt policies which will enable us to keep the world's temperature below 1.5 degrees. In fact, Canada is slated to increase its production of oil this year by 10%. And, Canadians hate the carbon tax so once it's removed when the Conservatives come to power, we can expect usage to rise. We have the tools to do something but it's just too damned inconvenient. Our children and grandchildren can deal with it.
