Ree Drummond’s 5-Star Ranch Chicken Sandwiches | The Pioneer Woman

Today, we are going to be whipping up Ree Drummond’s famous 5-Star Ranch Chicken Sandwiches. This recipe has garnered a solid 5-star rating for a reason, and after trying it once, you’ll find yourself making it over and over again!

To start, you’ll need the following ingredients:

– 4 whole boneless, skinless chicken breasts
– 1/2 cup honey
– 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
– 1 teaspoon paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– Freshly ground black pepper
– Juice of 1 lemon
– Crushed red pepper (optional)
– 1 pound thick-cut bacon
– 2 cups grated sharp Cheddar
– 8 soft whole grain buns

First, slice the chicken breasts in half down the middle to create 8 thinner, uniform pieces. Then, mix together honey, mustard, paprika, salt, pepper, lemon juice, and crushed red pepper in a bowl to create the marinade. Coat the chicken in the marinade, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.

While the chicken marinates, fry up the bacon until chewy. Reserve a quarter cup of bacon grease and pour off the rest. Cook the marinated chicken in the skillet over medium-high heat, brushing a little bacon grease on the chicken as it cooks. Alternatively, you can grill the chicken breasts indoors or outdoors.

As the chicken nears completion, top each piece with two slices of bacon and grated Cheddar. Let the cheese melt on the grill or finish melting it under the broiler if needed.

Once the chicken is cooked and the cheese is melted, load up your whole grain buns with the bacon-and-cheese covered chicken. These sandwiches are bursting with flavor and are sure to become a family favorite in no time!
