In her latest recipe video, Ree Drummond, also known as The Pioneer Woman, shares her go-to recipe for Rustic Meatball Subs. These hearty subs are perfect for feeding a hungry crowd, whether it’s a busy day on the ranch or a casual family dinner.
To make these delicious subs, you’ll need French loaves, milk, lean ground beef, spicy breakfast sausage, Parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley, olive oil, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese. The process is simple and straightforward, making it a perfect meal for any occasion.
Start by soaking torn pieces of bread in milk and combining them with the ground beef, sausage, Parmesan, salt, pepper, garlic, egg, and parsley. Form the mixture into meatballs and fry them until browned. Add marinara sauce and simmer until the meatballs are cooked through. Top with mozzarella cheese and let it melt for a gooey finish.
Cut the remaining bread into portions, scoop the meatballs onto each piece, and sprinkle with parsley. Serve the subs open-faced and enjoy the delicious combination of flavors and textures.

Meatball Subs
Never used bread annd milk in meat balls or meat loafs. Yuck! We always used oats or barley. In a taco meat balls or meat loaf. l use instant brown rice. Yummy.
When will there be another episode recap of chopped?
Looks delicious but good grief parsley is a garnish, not a whole ingredient.
No. A messy sub is not part of the experience. It shows inexperience.
Wow, that is a delicious sandwich!!❤😊
Breakfast sausage? Yuck.
My grandma always used the hot breakfast sausage with hamburger meat too. Great recipe, you’re a treasure. Thanks 🙏 😊
