New LMR Battery: A Game-Changer for the EV Industry?
Get ready for a groundbreaking innovation in electric vehicles (EVs)! The new Lithium Manganese-Rich (LMR) battery boasts an impressive 33% higher energy density compared to traditional options, leaving industry giants like Elon Musk and the entire EV sector buzzing with excitement. With this technology, long-range electric vehicles could finally become both accessible and economical.
For years, the challenge has revolved around balancing battery performance and cost. High-energy batteries, often composed of nickel and cobalt, can enable vehicles to cover nearly 400 miles on a single charge, but their prices make them a luxury item. Cheaper alternatives, like lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, may save you money but fall short in range, complicating the user experience.
The spotlight is now on the LMR battery, which not only promises an extended range—potentially exceeding 370 miles—but also comes at a price point similar to LFP batteries. This could mark a turning point for the EV industry and even challenge Tesla’s current 4680 battery technology, which has yet to be widely adopted across Tesla’s lineup.
Wondering why the 4680 isn’t more prevalent? Many enthusiasts question why it’s been reserved exclusively for the Cybertruck if it’s genuinely the best option available. Could the LMR battery be the solution the industry has been waiting for?
Join us in exploring how this new battery technology could redefine the future of electric vehicles, offering the promise of affordability and performance—all while keeping sustainability in mind. Don’t miss out on this electrifying development!

If LMR batteries are cheaper and more energy-dense, what's stopping Tesla from jumping on this tech?
How soon can we expect these LMR batteries in actual vehicles—are we talking months or years?
Will these LMR batteries hold up in cold weather or extreme climates like the current LFP models struggle with?
More range, lower cost, no cobalt—what's the catch? I hope LMR batteries don't have safety or longevity issues.
What kind of charging speeds are we looking at with LMR compared to LFP or nickel-based batteries?
People sleep on GM and LG, but this LMR tech might put them ahead of Tesla in a few years—especially if Tesla's 4680s keep getting delayed.
0:15 wow these LMR batteries sound interesting! i wonder if they can actually replace the 4680. but seriously, what's the catch?! i hope there aren't any safety issues, that would suck! #batteries
This is the kind of innovation the EV industry needs. Not just faster 0-60 times, but real improvements in price and range.
the price sounds good, but can we trust these new LMR batteries? i'm just a bit skeptical about all this hype. let's see if they really deliver!
Love the idea of using more manganese—it's abundant, safer, and way less controversial than cobalt mining.
Love the idea of using more manganese—it's abundant, safer, and way less controversial than cobalt mining.
Could this LMR battery really replace the 4680, or is it just more hype with a long wait before real production?
Elon's been talking about new battery breakthroughs for yars. Looks like GMand LG might beat him o it.

I would like to have heard this. However, the audio track was completely chopped up.
What do All living creatures and plants need, that aren't living in the oceans?? Fresh potable water…Start building desalting plants, and use the salt from them for batteries. Half the USA is in A drought one year to the next, or have been for many years…and that will resolve Low water tables in the lakes and reservoirs. Power the desalting plants by solar and wind so it's cheaper to do it,…thus making batteries 💯 % free…with the sodium….gee why didn't I think of that.
👍👍
ps…it would also reduce the rising sea levels too… but I would rather spend $44 BILlION for Twitter, than to start Another new company, called Tesla Water. Buy up baron desert land, bring reliable fresh water to it, then resale it for farming. ❤ 😊
Im Happy tech go and go better everyday Elon 💚🌎🌍🌏💚
WE need more chargers. A lot more chargers. If we have enough chargers battery distance wont really matter.
Nerd central.
LMR/LMO is inferior in energy density and lifespan. Tesla favors NCA/NMC for long range and LFP for cost/longevity. LMR can be useful, especially where high discharge and safety are more important than range.
How much does it cost to fully charge it for a week drive? 50% cheaper than petroleum? Charging faster than a gas station refuel?
I like the sodium batt. Very safe and fast charge and cheap materials
Why can't we do wireless charging like with our phones place the sensor in the roads and parking lots
