Iniguez, who was Gascon’s chief of staff at the time, was riding shotgun when police stopped the couple for a suspected traffic violation. Following the incident, Iniguez filed a lawsuit against Azusa, which resulted in a $10,000 settlement for alleged federal civil rights violations.
Despite the controversy surrounding the incident, Iniguez has since been promoted to chief deputy district attorney in Los Angeles. The video serves as a reminder of the challenges and scrutiny faced by high-ranking officials in law enforcement.
