Moscow’s Claims of Territorial Gains Stir Doubts Ahead of Zelenskyy’s Meeting with Trump
In a significant development, the Kremlin has announced the purported capture of two towns in eastern Ukraine, intensifying the long-standing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This claim comes just ahead of a crucial meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump, where the future of military and diplomatic support for Ukraine will likely be a key discussion point.
The Russian government has sought to bolster its narrative of success in the conflict, painting these territorial acquisitions as a significant blow to Ukrainian sovereignty. However, the veracity of these claims is under scrutiny. Experts suggest that the situation on the ground is complex, and such assertions by Moscow may be more about psychological warfare than actual territorial control.
Marina Miron, a military analyst, delves into the military strategies at play, questioning the credibility of Russia’s claims and assessing their implications for Ukrainian defense. Concurrently, Konstantin Eggert, a DW Russia analyst, discusses the potential motivations behind these announcements. He emphasizes that while Russia’s communication channels often reflect a propaganda stance, the real impact of these declarations is often felt among the civilian population in the contested regions.
As the world awaits the outcomes of Zelenskyy’s discussions with Trump, the stakes are high. With Western nations closely watching the situation, the meeting could redefine international support for Ukraine and shape the future landscape of Eastern European geopolitics. Whether or not Russia’s claims hold weight, they underscore the urgent need for clarity and verification amid a fog of misinformation.
The ongoing conflict remains a critical issue, warranting careful analysis as events continue to unfold. As both sides prepare for what lies ahead, the international community is poised to respond, emphasizing the delicate balance of power and the quest for stability in the region.

Russia exists in a world of alternative facts. Why is this channel attempting to give them any credibility?
Y’all never say Ukraine claims can’t be verified. I wonder why
Not verified 😂😂😂😂

Russia, already the largest country in the world, can’t even maintain its own infrastructure and wants more territory.
How much of donbas is not occupied by Russia, less that 20%. Not wise for Ukraine to lose more men for 20% you are going to lose anyway, plus more lives.

Lie they didn’t. News media loves to spread lies.
That Russophobic jester is going to be true 1st time in 4 years. Of course the modified 20 points plan is going to be denied by US and the Russia, as already now we see that's just full of nonsenese with zero relation to reality. No NATO block in Ukraine constitution, not to Crimea, DonBas, occupied territories losses, Russia should pay reparation fees, Russian officiers and Putin should go to trial …
Like don't take it, if you're Russia. The only way how to speed up the peace process is complete USA withdrawal from Ukraine. Otherwise, the comedian with his suite of corrupted friends will just waste times and suck resources west is constantly pouring into Ukraine. Or they should send Zelenskyij kids, relatives to the front to fight in assault units where the biggest losses are. Every top politician MUST send his able relatives to the front, not save them and let fight the poorest.
Every minute the war continues, 1 meter of Ukraine territory is being lost for ever. That is 1 to 1.5 km inland penetration per day from the previous frontline of defense. One American commentator said, “ Russia starts small and ends up big.” You cannot beat a supper power nation. That is wishful dream. Save whatever you have left now before losing everything.
This is wrong !
Neither side is willing to compromise which is why it will be settled on the battlefield and end only when Russia reaches the Dnieper River. The question becomes whether Ukraine will still remain defiant at this point which could result in Russia crossing the river.
So I can plant a chinese flag in united states too.😂😂
Ukraine azov Gunn solution are no where heard these days my guess is , they're in cementry
Neil Armstrong never landed on the moon, it can't be verified
