Russia faces challenge in repelling Ukraine’s deep incursion

In a surprising turn of events, Russia is currently facing a deep incursion by Ukrainian forces in the western Kursk region. The Ukrainian troops have reportedly advanced more than 10km inside Russian territory, marking the deepest cross-border invasion since Moscow’s full-scale invasion back in February 2022.

The Russian military has been working tirelessly to repel the Ukrainian troops, with the conflict now entering its fourth day. To respond to the situation, Russia has declared a state of emergency in the region as tensions escalate.

While Ukraine has not directly addressed the situation in Kursk, President Volodymyr Zelensky has made it clear that Moscow will face consequences for their actions. This comes after a recent strike by Russian forces on a supermarket in Kostyantynivka, located in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region, resulted in the death of ten individuals and left 35 others injured.

As the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to unfold, the international community closely watches to see how the situation will develop. Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing crisis.
