Russia starts large-scale evacuation as Ukrainian soldiers advance

Russia has begun a mass evacuation of civilians in response to the advancing Ukrainian troops in the ongoing conflict between the two countries. This escalation comes as Ukrainian forces launch their largest cross-border offensive since the beginning of hostilities.

According to Russian state media, over 76,000 people have been relocated to safety in the Kursk region, where intense fighting is taking place between Russian forces and Ukrainian infantry and armored vehicles. As the incursion enters its sixth day, the local governor has reported that 13 individuals have been injured after Ukrainian drones and missiles were intercepted and shot down over the Kursk region.

In response to the Ukrainian attack, Russia’s foreign ministry has promised a strong retaliatory response from the army. The situation on the ground is tense as both sides continue to engage in warfare, resulting in casualties and the displacement of civilians.

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine shows no signs of abating, with both sides firmly entrenched in their positions and determined to defend their territory. The mass evacuation of civilians highlights the seriousness of the situation and the impact of the ongoing hostilities on innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire. The international community watches closely as tensions escalate and the need for a peaceful resolution becomes increasingly urgent.
