You should head to the Noryangjin Fish market once really early in the morning as it’s a good way to understand what the locals are eating. It’s like visiting Fulton fish market but better. Anthony bourdain went there as it was on his agenda and he got to try some new stuff. You might be able to talk to the guys over on Jolly aka Korean Englishman. They go to Korea a lot because their wives are from Korea and kinda did university there.

Octopus honestly it’s like Anthony Bourdain said once. The octopus is dead just it’s too stupid to realize it’s dead. Basically it’s just leftover nerves trying to fire. Honestly you will get served a wiggling mass of tentacles which is an appetizer. It’s literally just nothing more than nerves trying to fire at nothing, and honestly they taste of nothing, it’s basically a vehicle for sauce. Also some places you grill up a fish right on the table sometimes oddly hagfish which tastes pretty good when cooked. It’s going to move on the table but it dies down after a few minutes. Also some Korean bbq places just do meat no side dishes, no veggies. You have to bring it yourself which isn’t that bad as you get what you want and you really just pay for the meat. It’s the old way of Asians eating as close to alive as possible.

There is a dish, called dancing squid dish that comes with soy sauce, and when you pour the soy sauce over the squid 🐙, it's tentacles move around. I can't remember what it's called the actual name of the dish. I've seen YouTube videos of it, and it's quite scary, lol 🤣.

That’s a common grey heron. Related to the blue heron. They eat mostly fish and invertebrates but will hunt the occasional rodent mostly for control reasons. They are not one of heron species to actually wash their food. The blue heron washes rodents in water while the grey heron does not. It’s a behavior born from requiring it.
