Bogart, such a good actor, and quite the man.
A strange re-write of history. The Allies liberated the Arabs from centuries of Turkish rule, and the League of Nations gave France a mandate to govern Syria. The mandate was to prepare Syria for self-government, but the film portrays it as colonialism.
Good Movie
48:18 This is the "hero" of the film?
Bogey sure could get himself into some predicaments. He didn't fare well in all of them but his acting was top notch.
Vagely remember Cobb in a few presentations way back when???🤔
Bogart is the only man I ever saw who could look dapper in a bow tie.
Please, Bogart that joint, my friend.
the boyfiend of the leading lady the french officer'' he has no accent of French
That you for the upload. I haven't heard of this one. I always enjoyed Humphrey Bogart's movies. Great performance by Lee J. Cobb.

Beautiful movie.
Ive spent the last 2 years watching old 40s and 50s movies .. far better than the stuff they are putting out today …Bogey,Cary Grant,Leslie Howard,Rex Harrison ,Ronald Colman,Jimmy Stewart,Gregory Peck and my all time favourite Burt Lancaster .. cant get enough…..and as for the ladies, Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis ,Joan Fontaine,, Anne Baxter and the wonderful Jean Arthur…. to name but a few ..
100yrs later, same old shit 😂
"How could a man so ugly be so beautiful?" she says…..some CLASSIC stuff!!!!!
Thank You so much for posting this one that I have never see, and I am 64…..
I never knew that this film existed. Nice film, slightly jingoistic.
Today, Humphrey Bogart's character would be called a defense contractor. Totally without Scruples or morals.
Shocking ending.
Islam rules for Evil deeds.
Emmett Sloane ?
Except for his gangster films, when he was the bad gangster, deranged mad killer. But outside of those roles, when a played a baddish character he usually ends up doing the right thing for the right reasons. That's why we, his fans love him so much! One of the TOP ACTORS OF ALL TIME, no one since has his magic!!! Will still be loved and have fans in a hundred years from now!!! na❤

The uploader neglected to specify the YEAR in which this film was made.
Amazing Facts: Swedish actress Märta Torén was only 26 when Sorroco was released in 1951. She died in February 1957 of a cerebral hemorrhage at age 31. 😢 Just a month earlier, Bogart died in January 1957 at age 57 of esophageal cancer from smoking.
I love the first scene where Bogart appears sitting on the bench. What came to mind was here's the usual suspects. Of course Bogart is one of them.
Bogie, in his ubiquitous trenchcoat, walks an ethical tightrope… with tragic results.
Wonderful movie. People making sound moral decisions, honorable ones regardless of the actions of other people…. one can only live in hope that honor will be recognized in our actions. Life is a gamble, some win some lose (even if they shouldn't lose)

"Teach the girl how to play them, maybe."
Despite ten minutes of commercials every three minutes of film what a great movie.
As an elderly movie buff, I appreciate being able to see movies I missed growing up. Strange that a slightly built man, wearing a toupee, could attract so many people to his personas. Bogart's shadow still flickers across our sights even after his death.
Thank you for posting. I hoped for resolution with "the usual suspects." Really enjoyed Cobb in this one.
"mind if i smoke!" 1:15 he shurely got an oscar for this endless smoke…
Released June 13, 1951!
What a DOWNER!
Why would you steal a movie and then upload it with your annoying channel logo smeared all over it? 🖕
low budget
Märta Thorén was an amazing actress. Unfortunately she died young.
Actually, surprisingly realistic for Hollywood. Atmosphere is spot on.
One of Bogarts weaker movies
