Quebec municipalities are still grappling with the aftermath of post-tropical storm Debby, which brought record amounts of rainfall to the province. Two days after the storm, many residents are without electricity and are facing the daunting task of pumping out flooded homes and basements. The widespread damage has prompted several municipalities to declare a state of emergency in order to access the resources needed for recovery efforts.
The effects of the storm have been particularly severe, with some areas experiencing flooding on a scale not seen in years. Emergency crews are working tirelessly to assist affected residents and restore essential services. The situation remains precarious as the full extent of the damage continues to unfold.
Residents are urged to exercise caution as cleanup efforts get underway, with safety concerns such as electrical hazards and contaminated water posing a risk. The community has come together to support those in need, offering assistance and resources to aid in the recovery process.
As the province grapples with the aftermath of post-tropical storm Debby, it serves as a stark reminder of the power and unpredictability of Mother Nature. The resilience and unity of Quebec’s residents will be crucial in overcoming this challenging time.

Quebec gonna get more money!
I got water rushing in through closed basement door. My yard had at least 4in of water in mtl nord. Was 6in inside but opened a cleanout for main drain and went all down in about 1hr. Very lucky I was home
Don't worry Quebec, your Alberta Equalization payments will take care of that
Infrastructure that was fine 20 years ago is no match for the changing climate. So much damage across North America from a relatively small storm.
Living in a floodable zone be like:
For some reason the $Billion+ CND drainage systems stopped working? Prayers
Don’t worry Alberta will pay the bill.
Could not happen to a more deserving province.
should not build in areas where there is a risk or flooding, simple.
Old infrastructure causing issue’s, who da thunk?!?! Why is there nobody available to help, after this flood?! Who cares if it’s a weekend!!! WOW!!
Tabernak
Quebec Gov’t. too busy focusing its resources on language laws, as supposed to health care and its infrastructure.
do you guys just hang out on youtube all day and get angry and comment how angry you are lmao
thats what they get for wanting to be separate from canada
Oh noooo…Quebec! You must pay more in Carbon taxes to prevent this! 😡
The Legault and Plant government have no money to help.
They gave that to Language Police and to build more bike lands.
They get $14 BILLION yearly.
We flew out of Montreal on Friday on a connecting flight and had no idea of the magnitude of the storm until we arrived in Fort St John BC with soaked luggage. I hope the recovery is as quick and painless as possible for everyone affected!
Stop building on a flood plain. Stop building houses and buildings with garages in basements and driveways sloping in below grade.
The government must help the victims as soon as possible! Thousands of houses and accommodations have been damaged destroying their property. Cars for the vast majority are not covered by insurance. Instead of building a third link at 10 billion dollars, the government should take a little of this money to help the populations!
Insurance, we pay so much. I've never filed a claim.
They should refund us every year, except we're all too stupid
Lol
Send that excess water out here to the west, we could sure use it lol
