Lost in the Wild: My Truck Broke Down in the Wilderness (Part 2)
In the second installment of my gripping wilderness saga, I take you back to September 2016, when my adventure near the stunning Marble Mountains in Northern California took an unexpected turn. After breaking down in an isolated area, I faced the daunting challenge of navigating the wild while searching for a solution. This video captures the raw emotions, unexpected discoveries, and survival instincts that kicked in as I tried to make sense of my situation.
As I retrace my steps and share this journey, you’ll discover how solitude in nature can be both terrifying and transformative. From the breathtaking landscapes that surrounded me to the moments of introspection, I aim to provide not just a thrilling story, but also insights into the beauty and unpredictability of the great outdoors.

Love this story Gabrial saw your original youtube video 2016 pleased you got out with your life, close call for you.
Most people don't know how freaked-out one can get when backpacking solo and losing the trail and having misleading unmarked trails. But, training really matters. I hike solo a lot and a good map and compass or always with me!
Thank you Gabriel, always like when you revisit your older videos 😊❤
Gabriel, any Bigfoot stories? You've spent so much time in Nortern CA and Oregon. I swear I've seen one in the background of one of your vids.😁 I'm looking at campers for my truck bed. Next year, I'm hitting the woods in search of the big guy!
I don't think it's legal to take water from a stream.
Amazing story ! Yosemite is always nice !
a real California burger 😛✌
It's obvious that at an early age (based on your degree in religious studies) that you had a quest for answers (life origins, higher power, purpose, etc). As you have devoted your life to wandering the planet, do you believe that you have come any closer to resolving your philosophy of your own existence? Could make for a fascinating discussion or series of videos.
What friightening situation, I ❤ these videos when your talking about your previous adventures, this video was scary one Gabriel. But entertaining though.
Thank You Gabriel 🇨🇦❤👍💙🇨🇦
Sometimes things work out. Loved these 2 videos, at my age, don't know your reference to clickbait, maybe it's, as Frank Zappa said, I got it from the toilet seat, who knows, safe travels.
😊❤🇧🇦🗻🏔⛰
Very nice video 💙💙💙
Gabe Traveler, I'm reading in the comments that you have seen the Omah. Can you share your experiences?
💛💛💛
I'm on Team GabeTravelerHasSeenMrFoot, and that he's covering it up due to an agreement with the Mendo County Sheriff's Dept
Awesome. Hope there's a part 3, loving the story plus the views! ⛰️
Saw your countries visited map, surprised that you have not been to Patagonia!
Loved listening to your story. I actually read your E book called “Broken Down”, so I was familiar with the story. Also have watched the original video. Of course it was even better seeing and hearing it with the backdrop of beautiful Yosemite NP. You are a great story teller and author. Cheers! 🍔❤
Boy, the prices for things are getting absolutely ridiculous!
Hi Gabriel, did the mechanic post you your $1600 cheque to you? Did you receive it OK? Really interesting story, feels like angels had your back how everything worked out. All the best from England, UK. Mark 👍
previously visible trails get overgrown, covered, when not maintained by trail repair crews. Good idea to check with forest service or maintenance entity before heading out. have contingencies: paper map, compass, gps
Geee….. who knows you might and met a princess along the trail and lived happily ever after. The title of this video would then be "from wilderness to a palace" or "from rags to riches"!

Nothing worse than feeling lost in the middle of nowhere.. Glad you made it out safe Gabe… 🙂 Safe Hikes…
HI Gabriel, there's no doubt you can easily get lost in the woods. Some trails turn into other tails, and before you know, you're lost going in another direction, and the deeper you go into the woods, it could get more precarious, sort of like being in the middle of the ocean, you lose your sense of direction. Even the most experienced can lose their bearings, but the advantage is that they don't panic because of their experience and know how to deal with adversity.
Best 💙💙💙
If you ever go on a trip like that again remember to download a gpx file of the route before you leave. That way it's very hard to get lost!
