Syrian troops recently held a military parade in Damascus, showcasing their strength and solidarity in the face of recent violent incidents in the country. The Khaled Brigade, a part of HTS, organized the event, which kicked off from Abbasid square and headed to Umayyad square.
The parade comes at a time of heightened tension in Syria, with reports of clashes between government fighters and minority Alawi protesters. In one incident, 14 members of the new interior ministry were killed by gunmen while trying to arrest a wanted member of Bashar al-Assad’s former regime.
Thousands of Alawis, the sect to which Assad and many of his regime’s leaders belong, have taken to the streets in cities like Latakia and Homs to protest against the violence and unrest in the country. Social media videos have shown these protests turning violent, with shots fired by both sides.
The military parade in Damascus serves as a reminder of the ongoing conflict in Syria and the need for unity and strength among the Syrian troops. It also demonstrates the determination of the government to maintain control and stability in the country amidst the challenges it faces.
As the situation in Syria continues to unfold, events like these military parades offer a glimpse into the ongoing struggles and efforts of the country’s armed forces to restore peace and order.
