The Angolan civil war may have ended years ago, but its scars can still be seen in the landscape today. In this episode of Itchy Boots, the host finally reaches the border of Angola and Zambia, covering the last 150 kilometers of her journey. As she gets closer to the Zambezi river, she encounters small rivers running across the road, each with sketchy bridges that must be crossed.
The effects of the civil war are apparent in the blown-up bridges that make travel through this region a challenging and precarious task. The remnants of the conflict serve as a reminder of the hardships endured by the people of Angola during those tumultuous years.
Despite the obstacles, the host continues her solo motorcycle adventure, using drones, GoPros, and 360 cameras to capture her journey. Her dedication to documenting the beauty and challenges of the road is evident in every frame.

Interesting. I would have walked my bike over some of the more problematical bridges and road pools. On the bridges, I would have taken off the bags and walked them across the bridge. Then the bike would be lighter. But that is me. Better safer if slower. On the hotel rooms, maybe lice and bedbugs. I rather would camp on a safe side, with a sleeping bag and small tent, then sleep in a sketchy room. Also, I would have packed some cans of tuna, etc, in case of no restaurants or food I might want to avoid. I also travel the world, and this is what I do (ya, I'm vegetarian).
So very nice roon than casombo

What a journey! This episode really showed how tough and unpredictable these remote roads can be, but you handled it all with such calm and determination. Those shaky bridges and deep sand looked intense, but you just kept moving forward. It was great seeing the moments of connection with the locals too—simple conversations that really bring the experience to life. And finally crossing into Zambia must’ve felt like such a reward after that long, challenging ride. Really enjoyed watching this one.
10:43 so cute 🙂

Everybody is different, but I feel that I have better control sitting on my bike.
