She is supposed to be 19 when she has the baby……she looks over 30 and was in fact 33 when she acted in this film. Ridiculous…..
Kim Stanley was neither attractive nor young enough to be cast as a screen goddess. She was 33 when she made this film and she looks it. Good actress though.
Fame the gilded cage
A masterpiece in all respects and I, like others commenting here and elsewhere troubled by Ms. Stanley’s age, I had a thought that the worn, desolate appearance of her at an early screen age is meant to mirror the premature, inner desolation of her soul. Honestly, if the performances weren’t so great, I would not have borne with the constant tragedy. Be sure to check out Wiki entries on the cast. It’s rich.
Acting is perfection by all in this film.
Compelling film! The only minor thing is that Kim Stanley wasn't really that attractive to be a film goddess.
Just starting. Review in an hour and a half
