Tensions in the Middle East have escalated as a barrage of more than 50 rockets was fired from southern Lebanon into northern Israel. The Israeli military deployed its missile defense system to intercept the rockets, causing a series of explosions over the Upper Galilee area. As a precautionary measure, people living near the border with Lebanon were instructed to remain near bomb shelters.

The situation in the region has worsened following the assassinations of a senior Hezbollah commander in Lebanon and the political leader of Hamas in Iran. These events have prompted travel warnings and major airlines to ground flights. The governments of France, the UK, Canada, and the US have all encouraged their citizens in Lebanon to leave immediately.

The US Embassy in Lebanon has even gone as far as urging American citizens to book any available ticket and offering assistance to fund urgent travel. The developments in the region have raised concerns about further escalations and the safety of civilians in the area.

Al Jazeera’s Ali Hashem has been providing the latest updates from Beirut airport, keeping viewers informed about the rapidly changing situation on the ground. As tensions continue to rise in the region, it is crucial for governments and organizations to prioritize the safety of their citizens and take necessary precautions to prevent further conflict.
