Synthetic food dyes have long been a staple in many American foods, providing a burst of vibrant color to products ranging from candy to bacon. However, certain dyes, like Red No. 3, have been linked to various health issues, including cancer and behavioral disorders. After more than 30 years, the FDA has finally decided to ban Red No. 3 in cereals and other food products. This decision comes at a time when California is on the verge of banning synthetic dyes in schools, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is advocating for a nationwide ban on artificial dyes.
The prevalence of synthetic dyes in American food can be traced back to the history of dyes and their widespread use in the food industry. These dyes have been associated with a range of health impacts, prompting initial bans on artificial food dyes. The recent FDA ban on Red No. 3 marks a significant step towards regulating the use of synthetic dyes in the food supply.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s ongoing battle against artificial dyes highlights the potential link between these dyes and behavioral disorders. The temporary removal of dyes in cereals sheds light on the prevalence of artificial coloring in popular snacks and the importance of understanding the impact of these additives on health.
As food giants navigate the FDA’s new policy on Red No. 3, consumers are encouraged to be mindful of the ingredients in their food to avoid synthetic dyes. The economic benefits of synthetic dyes are contrasted with the rise of natural dyes in ultra-processed foods, offering consumers healthier alternatives to products containing artificial coloring.
In conclusion, the ban on Red No. 3 in America has been a long time coming, with the FDA’s decision prompting a closer look at the use of synthetic dyes in the food industry. As consumers become more aware of the potential health risks associated with artificial coloring, the demand for natural alternatives is likely to increase, shaping the future of food formulation for years to come.

The federal government should pass a law making it illegal make a product or company logo any larger than the text for individual potentially dangerous ingredients or additives within the package. See if people keep buying garbage then.
Saying over and over that something is made from coal or oil scares people but doesn’t mean much, since this doesn’t mean there is coal or oil in your food. It just means it’s a source of chemicals. Chemical properties change wildly with structural changes and making something in a lab doesn’t mean it’s different from what was produced by a plant or animal. Plants and animals are running lots of chemical reactions to make whatever compounds they need, us doing this in a lab can create the exact same compound. Being produced in a lab doesn’t mean bad. If a compound is synthetically produced but has the same structure as one produced in nature, it’s literally the same thing. This is not meaning to defend food dyes just to point out that producing something from oil is meaningless to someone who knows about chemistry.
Ultimately, solving the issue will require years of social conditioning for Americans to stop associating brightly coloured foods as "happy" or even appetizing. Unless it comes out of the animal or ground naturally colored, we need to be okay with our foods being less vibrant. It's just a matter of familiarity.
It was 1980, when Mom said Dyes cause cancer; Aquanet Hairspray can lead to asthma, Bottled Water will be sold, but plastic will be in it; Rooftops will have vegetable gardens. Mom was right.
If trump wasn't coming back they'd still be using it.
it might cause cancer… and I just made a 20 minute video telling you all about it. but what the heck, i'm going to eat some of this cancerous stuff anyways while i giggle. haha
why? all numbers of red look red so it's hard to know if what you are eating is red no. 3 or red no. 33
So, we should stop using inkjet refills to dye our Easter eggs.
Shows how sheepy Americans have become. Swear think about it.
thankfully i have red 40
Yet you show people how natural dyes are made they are borderline vomiting
I always thought red red 3 was made. 3 was made from the crushed bugs 🐛 not petroleum
Every time I see videos with someone icing a pretty cake this is all I think about.
If you think the synthetic food dye thing is bad, you guys should look up the history of margarine. Soooooooo gross……..
Americans love oil so much, they use it not only to fuel their cars but eat it too!!!
don't worry folks, we have red dye 40 … which is also bad
Oh, RFK Jr… The guy with the dead, rotting brain worm who also eats roadkill? That's who you're using as a credible source???
Is the anchor wearing a red shirt made of RED No 3 ?🤔
Aside from decorative purposes dyes serve no purpose in food and honestly you could remove them pretty easily with no change to taste only the marketing teams would freak out about n9ot being to advertise shiny brightly colored candy anymore
My kidney cannot digest colourings in food
Nooooooooo, my toxic food dye is going away!
Big food companies have been paying to keep poison on the shelves for a century.
now get rid of red 40
Ban all dyes. No other country allows them in foods. Make red dye #40 next.
I think that the only reason that the FDA decided to ban this one thing is because they want to take any attention away from the fluoride that is put into drinking water and used heavily in dental hygiene products. Just a little research into the use of fluoride on children shows that it amounts to 'mind control'. Just a little research. Go ahead.
this is great news! thank you Trump and RFK Jr!
I was starting to wonder how stupidly shallow humans are to favor artificial coloring over healthy foods, but then it occurred to me that this video is about the US, not the world. Condolences.
this video sort if detereorated rapidly for me when you started saying that natural dyes have vitamins in them. This is the classic liberal progressive vitamin hoax – the idea that anyone at all in the western world suffers from a vitamin deficiency. News flash – nobody does. This isnt eritrea. Nobody needs the extra vitamins from beet food dye for anything – those vitamins will go straight through you and into the toilet.
Pressure from the manichino cherry industry!?!
5:25 “I’m dying from back pain. I’m also dying taking Tylenol that helps with my back pain.” 😂
I’m using Yuka apps it help a lot to read the ingredients.
Wow!…just ridiculous that these dyes can even be legal for human consumption 🤦♂️
