The M23 rebel group in the Democratic Republic of Congo has issued a bold declaration that they will march to the capital city of Kinshasa, following their recent gains in the eastern part of the country. Backed by Rwanda, the armed group managed to seize control of most of the eastern provincial capital of Goma, prompting concerns from the United Nations about their advance further south.
The ongoing conflict has resulted in numerous civilians in the DRC being injured and displaced, adding to the humanitarian crisis in the region. DW correspondent Jonas Gerding, reporting from Kinshasa, has been closely following the developments on the ground. Additionally, Shelley Thakral from the World Food Program in Kinshasa has addressed the challenges faced in providing aid and assistance to those affected by the violence.
The UN’s deep concerns about the M23 rebels’ intentions to march on Kinshasa signal a growing urgency to address the escalating situation in the DRC. With the potential for further violence and instability in the region, the international community must act swiftly to prevent a worsening of the crisis.

Who is supporting the rebels?
Felix Tshisekedi is an illegitimate puppet of Western interest and must be brought down. The whole of Africa knows that Martin Fayulu was the real winner of the 2018 elections.
They need people who can fight. Why is the government allowing this.
M23 MUST FORM A NEW GOVERNMENT OF NATIONAL UNITY AND A MORE PROGRESSIVE DRC WITH HUTUS AND TUTSIS DEVELOP THE COUNTRY – —SO AMAZINGLY RICH.

Hey did those Africans get Haiti all sorted out yet…? How's that one going? I know they sent some Africans over there to fix Haiti, just wondering how that's going. DW was reporting on that extensively. Haven't heard much in awhile.
Why are they fighting?
It's so sad for Congolese people to fight against their citizens
Now try explain this to the presidents of this world, who will care enough to help the victims? We need peace on earth
Out with western exploitation and Africa unite.
Tgey didnt capture goma thats not goma thats rwanda hotel first off
Why those Samaritans or UN doesn't help Congolese in medecins and find how they can get water as they tried to do it before beacuse there are not politics or care some side and leave other
They are now losing foresight, ceasing Kinshasa is unpopular, the best could be to cease North & south kivu and negotiate.
There is no United Nations peacekeeping mission. They are part and parcel of the problem in the Congo . The Congolese government and the UN have failed the Congolese people for decades .
Again UN is waste of time and money.
I prayer Nigerian presidents have sense, Nigeria's turn is coming
Tshisekedi is done
