Who would of thought they would of had higher density 🙄
Let's hope they hold a standard of building back in the picturesque western style of "national parks rustic" as some recent hotel renovations in the town have done instead of going with some hideous abysmal out of place modern mess.
Create some type of defense against fires first before building.
I hope they get back on their feet but no one wants to live in jasper let’s be real. To cold, no city infrastructure like Vancouver has, quality of life kind of always been sub-par in comparison to Vancouver
I was in Jasper in 2004 and I loved it… travelled in on train. Everyone was amazing and I wish the best for all people of Jasper.. Too bad the Federal Government let it happen..
I smell a 15 minute city. Build back better right?
Rebuild with Higher density ….
Like everything you need within 15 minutes or less type of density …🤔
Feds in charge ….
I think a lot of out of towners like myself are grieving about what these fires have done to the townsite and the park itself.😢
I CANT WAIT TO GET BACK TO JASPER NATIONAL PARK AND SOME HOW FIND WAY TO HELP REBUILD THE PARK AS WELL
15 minute cities all over Canada
Jasper doesn't have to worry about another fire passing through its way for a long time, now that Mother nature just made its own 22 km long fire barrier south of the town .
It’s all Trudeau fault! Trudeau must go! Lol 😂
I JUST FEEL SORRY FOR WILDLIFE
O course the mayor says that. They want to turn jasper into a 15 minute city. It's been Planned for decades. Same as edmonton And calgary.
Hopefully, all the good billionaires can swoop in and buy as many damaged properties as they like..
Higher density. Surprise, surprise. The globalists want their 15 minute city.
Global News, This is great! Let's be friends and have fun together!
Higher density housing means a larger population, which means larger infrastructure needs, including water, sewer, electricity, grocery stores, schools, which means more draw upon the natural resources of this townsite inside a national park..
Somehow, i can't see this happening.
15 minute city’s coming your way
You can’t prevent it… Fire is part of nature…..
is Oprah going to buy all the land?
Same as what they did for Lahaina!
Are we going to have dried out forests on the foot of town in the future? Wouldn't expect anything less, wait a few years, more fires, start over again…Views are nice but for whatever reason, we really need the trees to be quite far from the foot of town, if you think the forests will suddenly become wet, like they were 50 years ago, good luck on that theory…
Rebuild brick houses and sprinkler systems Inside and outside of the houses so this doesnt happan agian.
Big gov big problems
They don't have the intention to let the people who live there to build a new home. They want them in their big cities. This was arson like any other big fires of this past decade in Canada.
Someone should report that guy cutting on the table saw at 1:36. He's obviously an extremely inexperienced carpenter and if he keeps cutting like that, he's going to cut some fingers off. Extremely dangerous and Worker's Compensation would stop work if they saw this.
Do you realize how many people called that this was their plan all along days after the fire? Wow. It’s almost like it happened so these plans could come into effect sooner. Wild.
That was intended. Directed energy weapons and "SMART" city.
Anyone who has ever had to deal with Parks Canada and all their special building regulations in Jasper knows that they are one of the most frustrating bureaucracies in the entire Federal Government. It's all run top down from Ottawa to their local red-tape mandarins in Jasper, and they have ultimate power over everyone who lives there. You either do what they say, or they can kick you out. Jasper residents have known this forever, but now that the fire has happened, I predict the red tape and the regulations will be 100 times worse than ever before. Good luck to anyone who has to rebuild, it's not going to be easy.
Oprah bought up a few soon to be vacant lots for her new church of kids
May be if we are lucky they will build back better. Only people allowed on are with digital ID or non canadian.
Could it possibly be a 15 minute city!?! … Problem, reaction, solution … The oldest trick in the book
High rises on the way then
Jasper was an excellant place. I enjoyed my time in Jasper. I hope to visit Jasper again sometime in the future.
