The Palisades and Eaton fires in Southern California have wreaked havoc, being some of the worst wildfires in the region’s history, with an estimated cost of $57 billion in damages and economic losses. However, Americans have not stood idly by as fires have become more intense and frequent — they have taken the fight against wildfires into their own hands. From individuals like the engineer who spent 15 years fireproofing his California home to innovative technologies like a $30 million super scooper plane designed to fight wildfires, Americans are spending billions every year on combating these natural disasters.
One of the highlights of the efforts to fight wildfires in the US is the $30 million super scooper plane, which is a crucial tool in battling the flames from the air. Vineyard workers have also played a significant role in saving crops, such as grapes, from being destroyed by fires. Building fireproof homes has become a priority for many, as a proactive measure to protect against wildfires. Additionally, prescribed burns and fighting active fires are essential strategies in the ongoing battle against these natural disasters.
The dedication and innovation shown by Americans in the fight against wildfires are commendable, as they continue to invest significant resources into combating these destructive forces. As wildfires continue to pose a threat to communities and the environment, the efforts to fight them will undoubtedly remain a top priority for individuals and authorities alike.

Posting this video now, although I love it either way, is confusing because I can’t tell what year it is. There are wildfires now and in this video, but covid is still huge in this video but not now. Would love to see some clarification in the future.

190 billion dollars of renovation? Can't we spend that money on advancing deterrents against fire so that id didn't happen? Or is there too much corruption in the government to make that happen? Please explain
We could spend those 190 billion dollars to keep dangerous areas consistently wet, couldn't we?
30mil for an aircraft like this is insane…
Also, you all suck as journalist. What you have put fourth to us is nothing new.
It looks like pictures of Gaza after the destruction
Wild fires in California
Business insider-how can we capitalise on this!
so California just lost $60 billion on the fires, but a 5 billion dollar investment into some planes would make a serious fighting power for the whole U.S
Probably better to spend millions preventing wildfires.

In the shadows.
California needs to realise this is not a climate-crisis or wild fire crisis. It is an existential crisis for the most happening state of the US!
They spend $0 to help prevent them in California. Billions on homelessness though.
For me as a german its mind boggling to see how these houses are built. Its only the chimney and maybe a wall left. I can understand why insurance companies wont want to cover houses built of cardboard. Of course a well build house with something like our german klinker wont can withstand a huge fire but it seems to be more resistent and easier to rebuilt.
