Three youths apprehended in attack on BC teenage girl that was documented

Three youths have been arrested in connection with a swarming attack on a 13-year-old girl in Kelowna, B.C. The disturbing incident, which took place on Friday night, was captured on video and shows the young girl being swarmed and beaten unconscious. Onlookers can be heard yelling and filming the attack, and some even add insult to injury by pouring dirt onto the unconscious girl’s head as she lays on the ground.

At a press conference held on Wednesday, Kelowna RCMP Sgt. Laura Pollock announced that investigators had identified five individuals involved in the assault. Three of the five aggressors, who are minors and therefore cannot be named, were arrested on Tuesday and subsequently released on strict conditions.

The assault has left the community shaken, with one family in particular expressing their own painful memories of a similar incident that prompted them to move away from the Okanagan. The disturbing nature of the attack has sparked outrage and calls for justice as the investigation continues.
