As a cook, I have always been a huge fan of Guy Fieri and his show, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. His vibrant personality and love for food never fail to inspire me in the kitchen. Recently, I came across a compilation of Guy’s most-viewed videos in San Diego, and I couldn’t wait to recreate some of these mouth-watering dishes.
One of the first dishes that caught my eye was the Black & Gold Po’ Boy. This sandwich is a true Southern classic, filled with crispy fried seafood and topped with a tangy remoulade sauce. Watching Guy indulge in this sandwich made my stomach growl, and I knew I had to try it for myself.
Next up was the Fattoush Chicken Shawarma Wrap from Shawarma Guys. This Middle Eastern-inspired dish is the perfect balance of flavors, with tender chicken shawarma, crunchy vegetables, and a creamy tahini dressing. I can imagine the explosion of tastes in every bite just from watching Guy enjoy it on screen.
For the more adventurous eaters, there’s the Alligator & Kangaroo Burgers from Crazee Burger. These unique burgers are a combination of flavors that I have never tried before, but I am eager to experiment with different meats and spices to recreate this dish at home.
Moving on to the El Borracho Beef Rib from Grand Ole BBQ, watching Guy devour this massive piece of meat left me salivating. The perfectly cooked beef rib, smothered in a flavorful sauce, is definitely a showstopper that I can’t wait to sink my teeth into.
The Short Rib French Dip from Jo’s Diner is another dish that caught my attention. A classic comfort food with a twist, this sandwich is loaded with tender short rib meat and melted cheese, served with a side of savory au jus for dipping. It’s the ultimate indulgence that I can’t resist trying.
Lastly, the Screaming Red Spicy Garlic Wings from OB Noodle House seemed like a spicy treat that I need to add to my recipe collection. These wings are coated in a fiery red sauce that is sure to pack a punch, leaving my taste buds tingling with every bite.
Overall, watching Guy Fieri explore the culinary delights of San Diego has inspired me to step up my cooking game and try new flavors and ingredients. I can’t wait to get into the kitchen and recreate these delicious dishes for myself and my loved ones. Thank you, Guy, for continuously fueling my passion for food and cooking with your amazing show.

San Diego has that draw with some people. Moved there for college and never left. I'm not even a beach person but it's a special city. I'd would recommend Alforon which was on the show too.
Now I have a reason to add a trip to San Diego for a month to my bucket list! 😉
