Toronto Mother Desperate to Bring Home Son from Vietnam After Parental Abduction
In a heart-wrenching saga that stretches across borders, Heather McArthur is fighting an uphill battle to recover her young son, Jacob, who has been missing since February 2024. Jacob was initially taken by his father, Loc Phu “Jay” Le, under the pretext of a celebratory trip to Vietnam for the Lunar New Year. What was supposed to be a brief and joyful visit quickly turned into a nightmare when Jacob failed to return home.
Loc Phu Le, 41, is now a person of interest in a parental abduction case, with a Canada-wide warrant issued for his arrest in violation of a custody order. As months have passed, Heather’s despair has only deepened. She finds herself grappling with the painful reality of a system that appears unresponsive to her pleas for help. Nearly a year and a half has gone by since Jacob’s father left Toronto with him, yet there seems to be little progress in facilitating his return.
McArthur’s lawyer has openly questioned the lack of action from authorities, expressing frustration over the apparent inaction that has characterized the response to this abhorrent violation of parental rights. The emotional toll on McArthur is immeasurable; each day without Jacob is a new burden of worry and heartache. She longs for reassurance and support as she navigates this complex and distressing situation.
As the search for Jacob continues, the community and advocates are left wondering what measures can be taken to ensure the safety of children in similar precarious situations. Heather’s story highlights the urgent need for reforms in how parental abductions are addressed and emphasizes the importance of international cooperation in such cases. In her quest for justice, McArthur remains desperate for the day when her son can be safely returned and their family reunited once more.

What did SHE do to him though? 🤔
I’m disturbed that Canada hasn’t brought him home.
Hope the airport police if no Mother or Father of minor should call like that should call the Mom of the boy
Is what you get by having a kid with someone from another country.
Same way i got Valentino back to Canada by myself No Government “ you will get it my love❤ Jacob will be back home
hahahahaahaha
unforunately this has been going on for many many years all over the world, in japan, korea, etc, the governments dont make an effort to return the kids, i learnt about it during the pandemic when a father did a hunger protest at the gate of the olympic stadium in japan to protest the abduction of his daughter to japan, he had not seen her for years
In other words, the Canadian government is fulfilling its duties and obligations.
I sincerely hope that this mother can be reunited with her child.
Canadians need to know that the government is NOT responsible EVERYTHING.
The Government of Canada bends over backwards to help Canadians in these cases.
This is very poor journalism. Click-bait for an emotional topic. Global is garbage.
Multiculturalism and mix marriage is not so great especially when people are new to the country.only a third generation citizens is a real Canadian.
She should have checked out his background throughoutly before marrying him.
He took the child back to Vietnam that means he has relatives and friends there. Also, it indicates he wasn't born in Canada and is a new immigrant who probably came to Canada after the year 2000 or within 10 years.
Most Vietnamese immigrants who came to Canada in the 80s, 90s don't behave that way.
We help everyone else that protest their wars here in Canada, for God sakes help this mother get her child back home.
Date your same race
With Canadian laws always siding with even the most toxic mothers, it's understandable that the father is doing all he can to protect his son.
Let her pay for it herself. Father was probably sick of watching her turn him into a little girl 👧
If there was ever a reason to deploy Seal Team Six…
Meh he's learning another language and will be back smarter and stronger
Nobody knows the real story. Maybe shes unreasonable and not respecting his side. A lot of the photos seemed to show a young boy who was being groomed. Lots of feminine stuff on a boy. Vietnamese culture could frown on it.
Theres way more to this story then whats being told by fake global
Vietnam is a bribery place, money win
I feel bad for this woman, but other than trying to liaise with officials in Vietnam, what could our governments really do for her? This is why you really need to do your research before involving yourself with someone like she did with the father. Hope mother and her child are reunited tho.
