Travis Barker, the renowned Blink-182 drummer, recently spoke out about his struggles with flying after the tragic plane crashes that have occurred. In a recent interview with Fox News, Barker admitted to hesitating about flying to New Orleans for his Run Travis Run event due to the recent incidents. The devastating mid-air collision between an American Airlines commercial jet and a Black Hawk military helicopter, which resulted in the loss of all lives on board, has only escalated Barker’s fears.
The musician opened up about the trauma he experienced back in 2008 when he and his collaborator, Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein, survived a horrific private jet crash in South Carolina. The plane caught fire and crashed, leaving Barker and DJ AM as the only survivors out of the six individuals on board. Sadly, DJ AM later succumbed to an accidental drug overdose, further adding to Barker’s PTSD and fear of flying.
Barker expressed that his fear of flying has intensified in the wake of recent events, stating that “It just gets harder and harder, especially when your biggest fears come to life.” The musician has been candid about his struggles with anxiety and trauma from the past, and it’s clear that these recent plane crashes have only heightened those fears.
As Barker continues to navigate his PTSD and fear of flying, it’s clear that he is facing a difficult and ongoing battle. Despite the challenges he has faced, the musician remains resilient and determined to move forward, whether it be with his music career or other endeavors. It is evident that Barker’s experiences have had a profound impact on him, and it’s important to acknowledge and support him as he works through his struggles.

Same and yet I’ve never experienced this 😢
His wife is cute, he's got too much to lose.
At least celebrities can easily get Xanax. I struggle so hard to fly, I’ve had so much therapy, tried hypnotherapy too and flight classes. The only way I can is to take Valium type medications but Australian doctors are too scared to prescribe them. I understand why, but I really don’t want to miss out on travelling around the world 😢
While I’ve never experienced what he went through, I understand the fears with everything going on. I’m usually fine with flying and last week had a panic attack during our rocky landing on the tarmac. Wasn’t anything crazy but the turbulence was more than I was hoping for. That alone was enough for me to hyperventilate sadly.
Don’t do it again if you are not comfortable! Why you are doing this and it’s not good! Lucky touch you only once
