As tensions between the United States and Canada continue to rise, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is standing firm against U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s threats of imposing tariffs and suggesting Canada should merge with the U.S. as the 51st state. Trudeau is scheduled to meet with the nation’s premiers to address the situation, with provincial leaders taking the lead in navigating these challenging international relations.
With Trudeau set to step down as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, a new leader must be chosen quickly. However, concerns of potential foreign interference in the Liberal leadership race have been raised, as the party’s voting rules are less stringent compared to other federal parties. Mackenzie Gray delves into the implications of this vulnerability to outside influence.
Meanwhile, as Silicon Valley braces for a return to a Trump presidency, Meta has announced the removal of its fact-checkers. Founder Mark Zuckerberg argues that this move will reduce censorship on Facebook and Instagram, prioritizing free speech. Critics, however, argue that this decision undermines the importance of facts and is merely an attempt to appease Trump. Neetu Garcha provides insight into the controversy surrounding this decision.
In other news, Donald Trump Jr. made a controversial visit to Greenland, claiming to be a tourist while his father expresses interest in taking over the territory. Despite previous suggestions by Trump that Greenland should belong to the U.S., it remains a Danish territory, with Denmark’s prime minister making it clear that the territory is not for sale. Jackson Proskow reports on the latest developments in this territorial dispute.

PREDICTION: if trump does what he says hes going to do re trade between cda/usa, the cdns will suffer greatly, and all the cdn independant thinkers will see stark economic downturn, to the point plenty will lose their jobs, and perhaps their homes etc, and then see the benefits of the nations merge proposition. but they will refuse to see it until the stark reality hits them.
It seems to me that he's hiding how he wants to be like Beijing/China, treating Canada like how Beijing is treating Taiwan.
It’s not Trudeau’s choice, he doesn’t speak for all Canadians. But if you listen to what Trump actually states, he states that a ‘united’ North America would be unbeatable on the world stage, both economically and politically.
Trump, please take BC and Alberta.
It won't happen. Simple.
If the US adopts the metric system and free Healthcare, I don't see why not.
They'd fix all the economic crises Canada has gotten itself into over the past 20 years, and greatly improve our incomes and GDP per capita (currently pathetic compared to even the poorest US states)
ciasis is monitoring all comments
Last time I checked, the white house is still flammable.
First smart comment by Trudeau
We are not treated well by u.s..
USA needs Canada more Canada needs USA because when comes to trade the USA needs are OilGas , Potash , Urainum , Nickle , Lithium & other minerals & if you don't know what potash is it is a mineral that is vital for ferdlizer production so let's see you guys live with out are natural resources .
We love trump ❤️
Talks big to the air and then quits reminding us that; "I am a fighter"!!! He is a joke
we are not treated well by usrael.
Economic partnership is do-able.
They just want our resources, no thank you. I don’t want to say bye bye to my healthcare either.
This is who you guys elected over a woman??????
WOULD BE NICE IF USA SHOULD BECOME CANADAS 11TH PROVINCE AND TRUDEAU PRIME MINISTER OF THAT 11TH PROVINCE AND OPEN IMMIGRATION TO THE FULL EXTENT IN THAT PROVINCE
Rampant shootings and crappy healthcare? No thanks.
Canada should be a republic, now.
I can happen. Smith can hold a referendum for Alberta to separate from Canada and become and independent republic. With the promise of the US dollar, greater access to guns and more petroleum sales to US (completing the Keystone pipeline), Albertans may go for it. Once Alberta is a Republic, it can appoint Gretzsky as President who will then, working with Trump, Make Alberta Great Again, emerging as Northern Montana, the 51st state. Over time, USA can extend its reach to the territories and Nunavut, eventually taking Sask and then Manitoba. BC will be a hold out, but not for long. By that time Quebec will have already become an independent republic.
I love Canada and stand by my nationalist principles. I’d never want it to be annexed to another country even if the US is lucky to get Trump for the next 4 years. Having PP as PM is good enough.
OH DOUG if you had all behaved
YES MERGE !
canda trump is trolling you!
