Ukraine claims it has advanced 1 – 3 kilometers into Russian territory

In a bold move, Ukraine claims to have advanced between one to three kilometers into Russian territory in the Kursk region, ten days after launching a cross-border offensive. The Ukraine armed forces chief has confirmed the advancement on Friday, stating that they are still moving forward.

Kyiv has released video footage showing the initial assault on the Sudzka border crossing to Russia on August 6th. The drone footage captures a tank firing at the border post and alleged Russian soldiers surrendering. Since then, Ukraine states that they have seized over 1,000 square kilometers of Russian territory and have taken control of more than eighty settlements.

This escalation in the conflict comes amidst ongoing tensions between Ukraine and Russia. The Ukrainian lawmaker Yavheniia Kravchuk has voiced support for the advancements, highlighting the determination of Ukraine to defend its sovereignty.

As the situation unfolds, the international community watches closely to see how Russia will respond to these territorial gains by Ukraine. The conflict between the two neighboring countries continues to be a source of concern for stability in the region. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
