During this year’s COP29 international climate talks, Canada and other wealthy countries are facing intense discussions regarding financial compensation for countries disproportionately affected by climate change. Despite a previous agreement to establish a fund to aid vulnerable nations, little progress has been made since the last summit, according to UN special rapporteur Elisa Morgera. The negotiations surrounding climate finance are crucial in the fight against climate change, as countries grapple with the impact of planet-warming emissions. As the discussions at COP29 continue, the spotlight remains on the need for action and accountability in addressing this global crisis.

When China gets on board with the climate change agenda, then the world will follow.

Progress would be understanding Co2 is NOT pollution, but essential for life on Earth. We live in a fantasy world of “controlling Co2”.
Canada has billions of trees and thousands of lakes. We do not contribute to global warming.
Thats because China & India don't give a rat's butt about climate change. Here's a news flash, Climate Changes every day!
Hard to fix stuff when all the cash is going into Liebral pockets
Much ado about nothing. And much disinformation.
we are done …well done
It really makes you think about why big corporations are pushing people to buy the latest iPhones, cars, and cheap products from China, while so many older items just end up in the trash. Plus, when folks donate clothes to thrift stores, it’s frustrating to learn those donations often get shipped off to third-world countries to be sold cheaply. It raises the question of whether the whole system is designed to harm the planet. If we want to tackle climate change, it needs to start at the top. Those in power should experience life like those in poverty, ditching their private jets, beachfront homes, and lavish lifestyles. And why aren’t we seeing these elites on Zoom calls? The rest of us are adapting, while they continue to party and plot their next lockdown.
To all you conspiracy nuts "it requires the right kinds of clouds with enough moisture, and the right temperature and wind conditions, and produces only small increases in precipitation. " US Patent US2550324A This invention relates to a process for effecting changes in weather conditions and more specifically to a process for dissipating clouds and fog by clearing the atmosphere of moisture particles that are large enough to be visible and yet not large enough to fall out of suspension in the gases of the atmosphere. Cloud seeding now mentally join the two quotes
It’s a fake tax grift, nothing more.. just like acid rain was 😂
SCAM!!!
CODE FOR: WE NEED MORE OF YOUR TAX MONEY.
They are scheming as to how they can steal more money
Its just a scam to try and redistribute wealth from the west.
Global warming will be sufficiently addressed when we switch to renewable energy sources. Renewable energy sources do not contribute to global warming. CO2 from fossil fuels causes 85% of present-day global warming. Fossil fuels also cause inflation and have for 5 decades. It continues to amaze me that we have not "solved" global warming by replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy sources. As a retired Canadian engineer, I can only think that it is because our elected representatives are corrupt. Fossil fuels are big business, and "fighting climate change" is also big business and attracts publicity for our politicians.
It took two years to complete a major road in my province, so how realistic is it to expect the entire country to achieve drastic emission reductions in just one year? Change on this scale can’t happen overnight without significant negative impacts on the country and its citizens.
Rather than imposing an urgent, apocalyptic image of a climate crisis, it would make more sense to approach this transition gradually. Pushing people into electric vehicles with gas taxes assumes that most people have viable options. But EVs remain expensive, and the charging infrastructure is still inadequate. Imagine trying to find a charging station on a long trip, that lack of reliability isn’t something most people can risk.
The Canadian government could lead more effectively by first building out EV infrastructure and making the transition easier, rather than penalizing people into it with gas taxes. While there are incentives to buy EVs, they aren’t enough for those living paycheck to paycheck. A more reasonable approach would support infrastructure development, creating a smoother and fairer path toward emission reduction.
All those lives and businesses destroyed in Canada by the carbon tax and it’s done nothing to help the climate. Just as taxpayers said from the start, “ it’s a cash grab “
Great reason for bureaucrats to have an international trip. “Hottest —-since pre industrial era”. Think about what you say. A
L the progressives jumping on the bandwagon. As if weather is not always changing!
If climate change was real they would hold these meetings by Zoom
