During a meeting in London on Friday, United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned against a “protracted” campaign in Lebanon, emphasizing the need for swift action to address the political and economic crisis gripping the country. Blinken met with Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, to discuss the ongoing unrest in Lebanon, which has been exacerbated by a severe financial crisis and political instability.
The United States has been closely monitoring the situation in Lebanon, where protests have erupted in response to government corruption and mismanagement. Blinken’s warning against a prolonged campaign is a reflection of growing concerns about the potential for further unrest and violence in the region.
During the meeting, Blinken and Safadi also discussed the need for international cooperation to support Lebanon and provide much-needed aid to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people. The United States has already committed to providing humanitarian assistance to Lebanon, but Blinken emphasized the importance of other countries stepping up to help address the crisis.
The warnings from the United States come as Lebanon grapples with a worsening economic situation, exacerbated by the devastating explosion in Beirut last year. The Lebanese people are facing widespread poverty, unemployment, and a lack of basic services, making the need for immediate action all the more urgent.
As the crisis in Lebanon continues to worsen, it is clear that a coordinated international effort is needed to support the country and help pave the way for a more stable and prosperous future. Blinken’s warning against a protracted campaign underscores the importance of decisive action to address the root causes of the crisis and prevent further suffering for the Lebanese people.

Implement the 1701 resolution…very simple..
talk about a guy being biased
Why do they always like to blame Israel
The French government supporting terrorism
Israel is doomed !!
Self inflicted
You want ceasefire? Surrender is the answer.
France can't do sh!t.
Who started all this in the First place?. Remember assuming those rocket actually entered into Israel do you know how destructive that will be to the Israeli.
What about putting pressure on Hezbollah as well ? Both sides need to stop.
If Saudi Arabia cuts oil production and the UAE expels the Israeli embassy, the war would end. However, the Arab Gulf countries prefer for Israel to continue its campaign to weaken Iran’s influence in the region.
Of course if Hezbollah had followed the 2006 ceasefire deal, withdrawl North of the Litani river, then the disarmament of its militia this conflict would not be happening. Also of course Hezbollah began this phase of the conflict on the 8th October 2023. When the day after Hamas attacked from Gaza it launched its first missiles at Israel. Since then of course its taken the worst beating it has ever had, is it any wonder the side thats winning wants to go on?
Oh warns !! 😅😅
French 24 is trying to save their so called western values ( which is in dier situation 😅)
Where did Hezbollah accept a ceasefire? Since when has Israel been calling for that ceasefire while no one paid attention?
