Canada's dollar is about the same as it's political leadership's IQ. About 2/3 that of the US.
51st doesn't imply Trump is ignorant of geography or believes that Canada is equivalent to one state. It's a figure of speech. Canadian political columnists need to be less emotional about Trump's comment and not focused too much on dissecting Trump's words. Canada needs to lose it's superiority complex over the US for having Universal Health care and lower wealth gap. Despite Trump being annoying, most of what he says about Canada has an element of truth.
CANADA STRONG AND FREE!!!
Trudeau for treason
Carney will continue the net zero green disaster policies that have shackled our economy under the Libs. He has also said he’ll impose a carbon tariff on our imports – for which we’ll pay dearly. More failed green policies.
1 Canadian Dollar =>1 U.S. Dollar, can solve all our problems.
Never 🇨🇦 forever
How is Carney good for the planet and Canadian workers? He runs a $1 trillion asset management firm in NYC that invests in coal and oil in countries with no emission regulations. Then he turns around and says Canada must cut production to meet net zero.
We really ought to stop calling them our "friends". They threatened to annex. It's what USA citizens voted for. They're complicit.
I support Mark Carney. He is clam and knows how financial works.
51st state is a wish to make life easier than the USA propping us up continually for decades.
get rid of her…
Not a surprise that Alberta Politics wants to sell out Canada to Trump with Perrie . Oil oil oil … money money money. This is what halts Canada progress in renewable energy cause it impacts their profits.
Hes ribbing you guys because it gets to you. Regular Americans look at you more as family than a place to concur. Don't let him see he's getting to you!
team 51 canadian kids for Trump.
be afraid be very afraid
the swamp will be drained
I thought Carney was Trudeau's puppet master all along?
He can't do anything it's all talk 30 days is the start his market can't handle losing us
Agree with Dianne as I have thought given the size of Canada and calling it a state is truly insulting! However it also shows the weakness Dianne has pointed out with such massive land and resources why did we allow our country to be such a weakling – we should be more powerful than the US. 💁🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Make ten billion Rolexes and see what happens to the value. The Canadian
Dollar is garbage because they doubled the money supply. Why do you think your house doubled in value during Covid?
100% behind Pierre Poilievre & Conservative Party of Canada
Mark Carney & Liberals ** DO NOT have my vote.** 🍎
Dianne, Mark Carney is more versed in global economics, trade and finance than any other candidate we have EVER had. If we look at him purely as a candidate for leadership of the country, regardless of Party affiliation, he’s the most experienced. His track record in business and role at the Bank of England speaks for itself.
Adding: A great leader should surround him/herself with the right people to close gaps on policy, governing, and cabinet portfolios to cover any of their own shortcomings. If Carney lacks core competencies in any areas he could do that domestically while propelling Canada in the global arena and diversifying our international opportunities, diversifying and diluting our dependence on the Excited States of America…
And yes I have lived and worked in Canada as well as the USA – NY, CA, TX, AZ, and globally…as a proud Canadian.
As an expat I am proud to see Canadians standing up and becoming cohesive.
Trump wants the Northwest Passage.
This problem falls square at the feet of the liberals. What a pathetic situation. We need a new government, but even that may not be enough. Our defence is abysmal, our economy is flailing too little too late. Mark Carney is Trudeau 2.0, no more liberals. Pierre for PM.
Sorry, I dont respect Diane Francis evaluations anymore. I have listened to her bash Canada enough times.
Carney is going to cost us a terrible amount of .money that no one is talking about. He is lying, putting the expense of energy cutting things on the producers is just going to be passed on to us. They will not accept that cost. Wake up people. He is going to be a disaster to our country. Pierre is the only one that can handle Trump. He is a bulldog when he needs to be.
Our Canadian Kevin O’Leary is in Trumps ear this what happens when an empire is in decline
