In a startling turn of events, U.S. Senate confirmation hearings for Tulsi Gabbard, President Trump’s pick for director of national intelligence, have revealed her unannounced meetings with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. The Hawaii congresswoman met with Assad twice during a trip to Syria, a move that has raised concerns about her approach to U.S. intelligence and foreign threats.
The meetings, which were previously undisclosed, have sparked renewed scrutiny and questions about Gabbard’s views on Syria and her legislation. As the potential overseer of 18 intelligence agencies with a $100 billion spy budget, Gabbard’s interactions with Assad have come under intense scrutiny.
Despite backlash and criticism, Gabbard has defended her decision to meet with Assad, stating that it was necessary to better understand the situation in Syria. However, many have raised concerns about the implications of such meetings, particularly in light of Assad’s brutal regime and human rights abuses.
As the confirmation hearings unfold, the focus remains on Gabbard’s qualifications for the role of director of national intelligence and her views on the current state of U.S. intelligence and foreign policy. The documents and details surrounding her meetings with Assad are sure to be a key point of discussion as Gabbard’s nomination is considered.
With so much at stake in the realm of national security and intelligence, the outcome of Gabbard’s confirmation hearing is sure to have far-reaching implications. Stay tuned as WSJ continues to delve into the story and provide updates on this developing situation.

COMPROMISED
Of course, the pro-war lobby and the Surveillance State advocates don’t like Tulsi. 🙄
Paid hacks of the antifa left…at it again….People are waking up to your sham and have sent a mandate to shake things above
keep fear mongering and losing any credibility. GOP wins shall continue unless you stop
Assad was a criminal, genocidal dictator who gave Russia a fully naval port in the Mediterranean.
"You're not allowed to be wrong. You're not allowed to change your opinions. You must always be the same person you were. Because we need to be able to use your past to smear you."
What's wrong with you people? …Oh, yeah; She's anti-war, anti-MIC, anti-Deep-State. Nevermind.
Ive noticed a pattern that whenever someone is anti-war/intervention, all legacy media teams up to discredit and smear them…. truly evil people
She went on a fact finding mission in Syria. You're slandering a US Army Reserve Lt. Colonel and former congresswoman who served on the homeland security, foreign policy, and armed services committees. Believe it or not, our representatives used to travel to war zones and have a look at the boondoggles and military adventures that our tax dollars are thrown at. Sad that they don't do it more often.
The US did destabilise Syria with ISIS. The funding for the group came from the US and Israel.
The wall street journal is fake news. I have seen channels that only shows kittens playing with wool that has more subscribers.
She is a KGB agent. She has an affair with Putin.
I though politicians jobs are to meet leaders of their country and diplomatic? Even dictators where does it say they cant do that?
Wsj with the smear piece.
Glenn Greenwald – Media melts down over Tulsi Gabbard's nomination
Col Douglas Macgregor w/ Judge Napolitano – Trump and War
She is a pro Putin pro Assad politician she cant be trusted
So media / deep state does not want her to be there
She was trying to change who made americas constitutional laws by gaining criminal governments around the worlds; support!
There is no credible evidence that there was a chemical weapons attack. None.
Siria just another proxy war.
Tulsi only went to Syria because she was ordered to do so by her FSB handler.
Tulsi needs to be put in the job that President Trump wants Republicans do this now
Tulsi must never be put in cabinet.
Concerning that Trump's DNI pick secretly met Assad twice in 2017, right after he and Russia crushed Aleppo. Gabbard talks about "peace" and "aloha," but meeting an authoritarian who had just killed thousands of civilians – and then doubting US intelligence about his chemical attacks – shows questionable judgment for someone who'd oversee our entire intelligence community. The undisclosed nature of these meetings makes it even more troubling.
Neocons mad
This lame hit-piece is exactly why MSM, especially “conservative” outlets, are losing relevance
Churchill meet Stalin_42_ and they won the war .. Churchill didn’t like Stalin …at all… but he liked D Day with no German tanks … people talk … WSJ get over your selves
Great interview with President Assad on CGTN Leader's Talk..RT International, Telasur, Aljazeera, Middle East Eye, TRT World..
All I’m getting from this is that she’s not afraid to go toe to toe with the deep state and military industrial complex, meet with and gain information about foreign governments (including dictatorships like Syria under Assad), or say out loud what most Americans are thinking: we don’t need to get involved in every single foreign war that crops up.
The fact that she visited a war zone is a plus if anything, especially because she’s seen war from on the battlefield as well. And meeting with dictators doesn’t legitimize them or mean you support them, as much as this video tries to imply that. All it does is show them you’re not afraid of them. Would going there for a photo op with some American troops and flying back immediately have been more WSJ approved? You know, doing the exact thing that politicians have been doing for years that she saw first hand while serving and despised?
Why is her desire for America to stop funding regime change wars – especially those in which we give money directly to literal terrorist organizations masquerading as resistance groups – so bad? What do we gain by doing that?
This last minute attempt at a smear by the WSJ isn’t surprising, but it is disappointing. The fact of the matter is, most Americans (at least those who voted for President Trump) support Tulsi Gabbard becoming DNI. She has a long and impressive career in the military and in politics, she’s fearless, and she’s extremely loyal to America. We the people will remember the Senators – of both parties – who block her confirmation, and we will vote you out the moment you’re up for reelection.

Sounds like a good thing she would talk to him directly instead of trusting the cia.
Pentagon supported asad and cia the rebellion…. what a mess we had back then.
C'mon, right before her hearing? Can the media industrial complex be any more obvious?
Don't worry chaps, your vp will have the last say in her appointment.😅
MAGA FORVER !!!
"Trump’s Intelligence" is an oxymoron
Here before all the Russian bots
She was the dem's darling until she wouldn't play ball. Now they try to smear her as a foreign asset.
The fact that shes secretly meeting dictators who work directly under putin is grounds to instantly remove her from any office position imo
America fights and doesn’t win.
The most corrupt administration in US history
She's not anti war. She's anti anything that hurts Russia's interests.
