During the Vietnam War, the U.S. military launched a massive effort to strengthen South Vietnam’s forces and gradually shift the responsibility of the war effort to them—a strategy known as Vietnamization.
As American troops phased out, South Vietnamese soldiers, police, and local defense forces stepped up, supported by advisors and military aid. From riverine warfare in the Mekong Delta to air strikes from massive aircraft carriers, the conflict was fought on land, sea, and air.
With a mix of military strategy, civic action, and counterinsurgency, this transition aimed to secure a nation under siege while changing the course of history.

Because they are fighting with a nation not a one small small army as they thought
Bởi vì không có 1 kẻ ngoại bang nào có thể vào can thiệp được nội bộ của dân tộc, đất nước Việt Nam cả! Pháp hay Mỹ thì cũng không có tuổi để lớn tiếng ở Việt Nam!

Baloney on this video. It omits that Viet Nam remained one country after 1954 Geneva Accords. In 1954, after Viet Nam defeated France, France had a temporary Geneva duty to administer the south half of this single nation. But US businesses had been in Viet Nam 1865–1954, enabled by French violence. So, US leaders kicked France out, breaking the Accords. Viet Nam being 1 country, it defeated the US. Then it defeated the US proxies in the South, who, being a very small percentage, had no chance.

The U.S will not invaded Vietnam they came here to help Republic of Vietnam against International Communist in 1954 after Geneva Accords the Viet Minh retreats to the North and the French Union army retreats to the South in 1955 Ngo Dinh Diem a Prime Minister of the State of Vietnam establish Republic of Vietnam while in the North the Viet Minh Leader Ho Chi Minh establish Democratic Republic of Vietnam a National Border was born in 17th parallel and DMZ was establish in there so Vietnam war was a civil war not " Against U.S Imperialism War " like the Viet Cong call. If ARVN attack to the North liberate Hanoi out of Communist then Vietnam was be a Freedom, Democracy, Human Rights and Richest Country in the South East Asia and the World.

What a big waste of tax dollars that could have been used for something a lot better, surely the US has learned it's lesson, and won't get involved in another conflict that accomplishes nothing in the end.
그때는 썩을대로 썩어 부패가 심했고 자유가 뭔지 몰랐고 미국내 반전운동으로 손을 놓게 되었다
Why??? Americans did not want to fight this war and it was NOT OUR WAR!! it was a political war and the warmongers in Washington DC said they didn’t want communism just spread but what the hell were they gonna do? were they gonna have the US US military takeover Vietnam, which could’ve easily been done, & OCCUPY All of Vietnam forever?? Hell no because Americans didn’t want that.
Vietnam had been a colony of France for over a century and as a history major I learned a lot about this and it’s not different treated them badly or anything. It’s just that after time, you outgrow. … mother etc. etc. and the French did a lot of infrastructure projects in Vietnam when every other snobby European country pulled out of Vietnam because they couldn’t stand the weather or the terrain.. the French one to help the Vietnamese and Indochina & went inland and realized they only had one bridge made of bamboo so they started helping with some infrastructure projects and they had Catholic missionaries as Christians and they did help educate children, but they instructed them in the loud alphabet and I think that makes the Vietnamese special Today!! I don’t know if they still teach the Latin alphabet but anybody in Vietnam now that can speak French Latin or English as well as Vietnamese is brilliant!!!
The USA was a colony and we were a colony of Great Britain and they treated us like garbage, and we got tired of it and had a revolutionary war and kicked their asses. Majority of American, who even got drafted to go over to Vietnam, who did not want to go there in the first place because it was not our war felt some kind of sympathy for these people wanting their independence and freedom from France.
