Why it’s not surprising that Gen Z patriotism is at an all-time low

Gen Z patriotism is at a record low – and here’s why no one should be surprised. As a Zoomer myself, I too am wholeheartedly proud to be an American, but it often feels like I am in the minority. NY Post Reporter Rikki Schlott shares this sentiment in a recent video, where she delves into the reasons behind this trend.

Poll after poll reveals that our generation is considerably less patriotic than those who came before us. Growing up in the midst of political upheaval and constantly being bombarded with negative headlines, it’s no surprise that many of us struggle to find reasons to take pride in our country.

As Schlott points out, the lack of education on the importance of patriotism also plays a role in this decline. Without a proper understanding of why patriotism is crucial, it’s difficult for young people to feel a strong connection to their nation.

But all hope is not lost. As Schlott emphasizes, it is on all of us to work towards fixing this issue. By educating ourselves and others on the importance of patriotism, we can help instill a sense of pride in our country among Gen Z.
