The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressed deep pain and anger following Russia’s attacks in Ukraine that killed at least 44 people and damaged a children’s hospital in Kyiv. Speaking ahead of the NATO Summit in Washington, D.C., Zelenskyy shared the heart-wrenching experience of losing children in the attacks, stating that the sight of parents losing their children made him and others want to seek revenge against Russian President Putin.
Among the casualties from the attacks on the children’s hospital were three children and a doctor. The community came together to help search for survivors and recover bodies from the rubble left behind by the strikes.
Ukraine, in the midst of a 29-month long war with Russia, has been receiving increased support and aid from other nations. The 2024 NATO Summit is set to provide Ukraine with more F-16 fighter jets and aid packages to bolster their military in the ongoing conflict.
The attacks on innocent civilians, including children, have heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia, leading to a call for justice and support from the international community. The devastating impact of the violence in Ukraine underscores the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
