I never forget India’s Independence Day because it is on my birthday, August 15th. 🎉
It's not hard to do some research about basic language and indigenous culture . . . I wish this was a priority, beyond just looking at things. . .
Seriously don’t miss the South Island. It is so much nicer and has amazing hikes
Very nice 😊
42 is almost always the perfect answer….
I used to read a lot of Zane Grey paperbacks when I was young.
I've been to NZ's north island several times: Taupo, Whangamata, Whitianga, Rotorua, the Corromandel and more…NZ is known for manuka honey and lamb (the fate of the sheep). The dairy products are also good. The traditional way Maoris cooked food is known as a 'hangi' which slow cooks in an underground oven. Re kiwis, did you know that Australians call people from NZ 'kiwis'!
Jan 26th is the national day of Australia when the first fleet landed in 1788
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference
😎😎😎
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 THAT CHICKEN IS A KIWI ??
I had to look up Zane Grey. an American novelist of the late 19th and early 20th century from, naturally, Zanesville Ohio. He had an estate in Altadena California on the National Register of Historic Places that was destroyed this month in the fires there.
I always end up craving a quiche watching alot of your videos
Large ferry to Nelson on South Island is excellent. Best hikes are on South Island. Abel Tasman trek starts in Nelson, which is several days long, with excellent gov’t huts to stay in.
You pronounced Aotearoa perfectly; even sight- reading it. Well done!
My favorite country on earth
No disclaimer for the chicken kiwi. Good laugh cheers bro
I got the Douglas Adams reference
You try a steak and cheese pie from the bakery dont pay more than $6.50 nz tho
January 26th is also Australia day. 😊 Those are tree ferns. The walk looks similar to what you'd see in Tasmania ( a good time weather wise to visit there at this time of the year).
Yes Gabriel you are correct .January 26th is VERY IMPORTANT. Its is Australia Day in the Best Country in the World! Just ask all the Kiwis, they will tell ya as they are all moving here!
Pity about the cloudy weather – NZ is always at its best when it's sunny.
Kiwis don't come out in the day, they are very shy and are night birds. The birds you saw were chickens and guinny foul. Your only chance of seeing a Kiki is probably the Zoo
So cool to see you in my home country New Zealand. Maori are not indigenous per se, they immigrated from Polynesia arriving some 7-9 hundred years ago, probably from Rarotonga. There are stories of the country already having people here although Maori narrative will try hard to discredit. Europeans settled the country after the Maori. definitely a Chicken you saw, Kiwi are rare and not likely to see wandering about in the day as they are nocturnal and typically quite shy. Enjoy New Zealand its one of the best countries on Earth, peace
Look forward to seeing you every day
Yes, India's independence day was on Sunday. India celebrates 76yrs of independence.
Comparing what you pay in Europe and in Hawaii, NZ is still very reasonably priced. Either take the ferry across or fly and then rent a car on the South Island.
Thank you Gabe for showing us around NZ.
I was in deep thought when you posed that question. lol
Was fortunate enough to do a helicopter trip around the bay of islands …… sensational.
Cheers 🇦🇺🍺
Looked like a chicken. Kiwi's dont hang out during the day
Hi Gab , January 26 is AUSTRALIA DAY. Cheers.
Lol a kiwi- nope they only come out at night
Dont forget to visit south island. I would imagine a very different landscape being further south.
palm looking ferns are called tree ferns or pungas
Bit like wales
Great info.❤
Finally you went to New Zealand. I hope you like it as much as we did. If you need some tips, let me know. Kind regards, Jitske (Ellen's mom 😊😉)
The north island seems very layed back. 👍😊🇮🇪💙🇳🇿
Don't miss the Rotorua area.
Haha! Kiwi, you'll most likely never see one, they're also nocturnal. Best bet is Auckland Zoo 🙂
Look on Google for a kiwi bird picture their feathers are different from poultry (chicken)
Paihia is said "pie – hee – ahh
New Zealand has more intelligent birds than many counties have people. Donald Trump?????
January 26th is Australia Day in Australia 🎉!
Watch your speed when driving – strict rules!
Jan 26 Australia day Gabriel
In Auckland one of the highlights is going to Rangitoto island and walking to summit, or at least it was when i was young maybe not allowed now. Its the perfect volcano in the harbour mostly scoria with trees gaining a foothold, Auckland is a volcano city built on numerous volcanoes that have been active quite recently
Kiwi are nocturnal so your chances of seeing one in the wild during day time is slim. I have lived here for 66 years and still have not seen one in the wild. Auckland zoo or Otorohanga kiwi sanctuary are probably your best chance to see one. Some people think the Californian quail are kiwi and the Weka also confuses people. The Kiwi has a distinct shape and a very long slim beak
