Ford, while acknowledging that Trump is a “smart guy” who understands the market, firmly placed blame on the U.S. President for causing turmoil in the economic landscape.
Ford expressed concern over the impact of Trump’s actions, pointing to the negative repercussions already being felt in Canada. He highlighted the threats to assembly plants and manufacturing, as well as the potential loss of jobs and rising inflation rates. According to Ford, all of these issues can be traced back to one person: President Trump.
In an effort to prevent further economic downturn, Ford called upon U.S. political leaders to intervene and persuade Trump to change his course of action. He warned that if Trump continues down the current path, both countries will suffer the consequences.
