Great vid. Hope you get back on the water soon! Love you guys! 🤩😍😘
Nikki, I've watched all of ya'lls videos. In all sincerity, you are more beautiful now than ever before. Jason, for a lot of reasons, you are a very fortunate man. Cheers.
Awesome boat. Great to see you two back on the water.
Also…noticed a new Alubat Ovni (400 or 470) behind you in the anchorage. I am looking at Ovni 370s. Did you get onboard? Interested to hear your thoughts if you did.
Buy it.
oh boy… another channel adding the persistent affiliate links. It ruins the viewing experience. Thumbs down.
I hope you will be able to try another boat so you can have something else to judge against. But then again you already tested your 2nd boat which honestly sucked. In my option this boat is amazing.
Love the new hair
and so……………….a boat in the near future? any hints
👍🤩💝Great review. Please try a few more “hands on” before making a final decision.
Why doesn't anyone make a catamaran with a full boat bimini of solar panels, coupled with a WingIt kite sail. You could easily get 8 kW on a small cat, and 20kW on a medium-large cat. The kite sail requires no tall rigging, so no shading on the solar, even when the kite is flying. Could even rig some slide-out awnings of a second layer of solar that could double the solar output on calm days or days with moderate wind and waves. LiFePO4 cells are getting so cheap. It's about $1000 per 15kWh now, and was cheaper before the tariffs. $8000 would get a ridiculous 90kWh of battery. Couple that with a double deck of 40kW of solar, and the kite sail for passages, and what a fun boat that would be.
I've been using Surfshark for several months now and it's because of your commercials for them. I couldn't be happier.
You need one of these cats, ASAP!!!
Love that boat. Awesome ride. I can tell just from these couple a video's. Thank you, Beth and Paul, for this experience and of course Nikki and Jason for sending it my way. 👍
That was a nice perspective on that vessel's setup. It's a beautiful boat and who wouldn't want to sail the Bahamas or Mediterranean for a few months in a boat like that. For perspective, in the late 1800's Joshua Slocum sailed a 37" Gaff Rigged Sloop (Spray) alone, around the world with nothing but a compass and a sextant. All the tech and creature comforts don't mean much when your on a small vessel, all alone at sea in a storm. That's when it all gets real. That is also why so few do it even with all the modern boats safety and technology features. Slocum wrote the classic Sailing Alone Around the World novel published in 1899 and that book inspired me as a very young man to build my own 42" Trimaran. That nearly 50 year old FRP boat is still sailing today and it was the construction of and sailing that boat that gave me the courage to do just about anything. Ultimately it's all about taking chances or playing it safe in life. I'm glad all these years later that I chose the former.
How do you think it will go on a long passage where you might have to motor for 24+ hours. Typically we would switch diesel engines every 6-12 hours but with a single genset you can’t do that. Is the genset going to be ok running for long periods like that?
Great topic and video. This type of hybrid makes more sense to me than what you had on your HH, which would you choose on your ‘next boat’?
Nikki is my dreamboat! 😍😍😍
Nikki & Jason you look sun-kissed 😂 lovely video !
Of all the current production Cats, the Windelo 54 is the most interesting to me, although no plans to upgrade to a $4m AUD boat at this time! The two most obvious questions are whats the flow thru ventilation like in the hulls? Does the one you sailed have hatches in the bows, they dont seem to have any deck hatches in the hulls on the standard design with the deck solar option. The other question is what is the balance like with the small staysail and the very large main. (I think because they had to move the mast forward to get the room for the forward cockpit.) I would be concerned that it would suffer from weather helm and there would not be much drive from the staysail. Other debatable innovations are the anchor winch in the cockpit, we anchor often in blue sticky mud and even with a deck wash its not possible to clean the chain completely, the idea of that crap spraying around the cockpit as the chain is retrieved is not good! I am also not sure I would be comfortable with a boat with so much complex electronic systems, such a risk at sea with basically the potential for the whole boat to be shut down with fairly small electronic issues. its all great while it works, but if you have a systems failure you lose motoring ability, comms from starlink, water from water maker, cooking, navigation, auto pilot,, sail handling, transom etc.

It has been so good to see you on the water again. In last week's video, i could just see how much you has relaxed and how happy you were to be sailing again. I'm so happy for you, and hope to see you on the water again soon.
We shared our thoughts but now we're super curious to hear what you think? What are your impressions of this electrified vessel? Did you find the forward helm as enticing as we do?
