Thanks ! First complete Vera Lynn movie I ever had the pleasure to see on Youtube … and to download, of course
US Army I joined enlisted in 1964, because I got a draft notice that added a year to my service duty. Note, born 1941 in WW2 yrs, every American war deeply disturbed me. "Britain Blitz," no less so, even if a thousand miles away. War films, radio broadcasts, and picture magazines motivated by patriotism can display war horror deep in "soul & spirit, mind and body, right to heart. Defense will come to England now, from were ? Protection of "crown" and church who will give life and limb, hand and foot, blood and sweat to sail the channel, are the "White Cliffs" alone to stand to defend Britain's land, man or woman native born against subversion, treason and malefactors of all kinds ? US President has called patriotism, popular for man and woman, "Make America Great Again !" Is "crown" and land safe in Britain as once American Colonies fought it's "Mother Land ?" Thanks for sharing vicarious horror of war, no sarcasm, just grief for brave who yet love their country…and sympathy.
The marvelous Vera Lynn. The voice of England during ww2.
Worth watching just for the last 5 minutes as she sings to the service men and women…who I presume actually were at the tine…as this movie was made in war time…
