3,000-Mile Update: Our Long-Term Review of the 2024 Fiat 500e
After nine months of spirited commuting, we’re ready to bid “arrivederci” to our 2024 Fiat 500e, with 3,000 miles under its belt. This small yet engaging electric vehicle has provided us with numerous insights that we’re excited to share.
First and foremost, driving the Fiat 500e has been a blast, especially on twisty roads where its peppy acceleration and responsive handling shine. While the EPA range of 141 miles might not seem extraordinary on paper, it has proven more than adequate for our daily needs. We primarily used it for short to medium commutes, and despite a heavy foot on the accelerator, the vehicle consistently delivered on its promises.
That said, the Fiat 500e isn’t without its quirks. The rear seats have limited folding capabilities, which could be a drawback for those needing extra cargo space. Additionally, we wish the blind spot monitoring feature came standard, as it would enhance overall safety. We’ve also seen online chatter about jerky regenerative braking; however, our experience has shown that it performs smoothly, particularly during one-pedal driving—stuttering only at very low speeds.
The 2024 Fiat 500e proves that electric cars can have personality. With its zippy performance, firm European suspension, and an unmistakable city vibe, it’s a vehicle that’s hard not to love.
