21,000-Mile Update: Our Long-Term 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid

In this latest video update, we dive into the impressive journey of our 2025 Kia Carnival Hybrid as we hit the 21,000-mile mark after just ten months of driving. This fall has been particularly busy, racking up an additional 6,400 miles, making this family hauler a true workhorse on the road.

Equipped with 242 hybrid horsepower, the Carnival has provided a smooth and efficient riding experience, seamlessly integrating its hybrid technology with a six-speed transmission. One of the standout features we’ve come to appreciate is the passenger view cabin camera, allowing parents to keep an eye on the back seat through the infotainment screen—a thoughtful addition for modern family travel.

Importantly, our Carnival has proven to be reliable, spending minimal time at the dealership. Aside from routine maintenance, we haven’t encountered any significant issues. Fuel economy remains steady at 31.7 miles per gallon, a respectable figure, albeit slightly below the government’s combined rating of 33 mpg.

In this update, we also explore the unique steering wheel paddles, which control regenerative braking rather than shifting, offering an engaging driving experience for those who like to take an active role behind the wheel.
