Stray Kids React to ‘THIS & THAT’ Becoming Group’s 9th Consecutive Billboard 200 No. 1 Album: ‘Most Exciting News Ever!’

Stray Kids are speechless. The members of the K-pop supergroup reacted on Sunday night (Aug. 16) to the news that their latest release, THIS & THAT is officially their ninth Billboard chart-topper.

“Hello all, we are Stray Kids!,” the eight-member group said in unison in an Instagram Story captioned, “9th consecutive Billboard 200 #1 album ‘THIS & THAT’ … Thank you STAY, from the bottom of our hearts.”

“Today we are excited to share the most exciting news ever,” added member Bang Chan. “Our most recent album, THIS & THAT, has reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the ninth consecutive time! Unbelievable!”

Singer Felix added, “We are deeply grateful for all of your support. Thank you so much STAY. Without you, we wouldn’t have been able to achieve this incredible milestone. So we’d like to cherish this moment together with you and with everyone, everywhere all around the world.”

After a message in Korean, Seungmin concluded by saying, “Thank you for enjoying all our different sides, from this to that. We hope you look forward to spending the rest of the year with us as well.”

The group did have plenty to celebrate, as their ninth No. 1 album topped the chart dated Aug. 22, earning 369,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Aug. 13, according to Luminate, which marked the crew’s biggest week by units to date. Of that number, traditional album sales comprised 357,000, marking the act’s best sales week ever.

The eight-track THIS & THAT’s album sales were helped by its availability across 17 CD and vinyl variants, all of which contain collectibles including photocards, posters and stickers, as well as eight digital download variants.

All nine of the group’s Billboard 200 chart entries have debuted at No. 1, starting with ODDINARY in 2022. Then, in 2024, HOP also debuted at the top, making Stray Kids the first act to debut its first six entries at No. 1. With their 9th entry, Stray Kids extend their record for the most No. 1s among groups this century (since 2000), as well as tying the Rolling Stones for the second-most No. 1s on the Billboard 200 among groups; The Beatles lead all acts with 19 No. 1s. They also have set a record for the most No. 1 albums by a K-pop group of all time.

The Stray Kids’ 2026 RUN IT world tour is slated to touch down at Tokyo’s National Stadium on Aug. 29 before the crew heads down to South America in September for shows in Colombia, Brazil and Argentina, as well as two nights (Sept. 25-26) at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City.
