Juan Ignacio made a dramatic shift in his professional life after confronting a single question: “What truly matters to me?” That question led him to completely rethink his career path. He left behind engineering and chose philosophy instead—a decision that transformed not only what he did, but how he lived.
In this talk, Juan Ignacio shares his journey and explains how learning to live with that question ultimately led him to build a life he believes was truly worth living.
Today, he finds fulfillment teaching philosophy and helping others discover their own answers through the power of asking better questions. Juan Ignacio Albertengo is a philosopher and teacher based in Santa Fe, Argentina. Before pursuing philosophy, he earned a degree in engineering, graduating with one of the highest academic records in Argentina. Yet despite his success, he realized that his true calling lay far from engineering, leading him to begin a new journey and earn a degree in philosophy.
A passionate soccer fan and a lifelong lover of gnocchi, he also happens to share a rather unusual birthday—December 25, the same day traditionally celebrated as the birth of Jesus.
Behind these lighthearted details lies a powerful personal story and a message that deserves to be heard in complete silence. Today, he takes the TEDxSunchales stage to bring forward one of those conversations we can no longer afford to postpone.
