Rentrée scolaire 1978 ( classe de première ) , le jukebox du bar le Saint-Eloi ( notre fief ..!! 😆) de Limoges passait cette chanson en boucle ..!! Nostalgie ..!! 😏😞

An amazing song, pure and simple. Brilliantly performed. Great times.
Absolutely brilliant. 👏👍
What a song 🎵 underrated in the late 70s still stood the test of time classic.
Me too.
Un tube en Belgique et en France au temps de mon adolescence. J'ai 65 ans.🇧🇪
heh rotten john sound a bit punk attidute
The Dj from my youthclub had just send it to me – loved, love and will always love it!
I was a long distance lorry driver when this came out, and remember singing loudly along with this on the radio. I got some funny looks at traffic lights !
This song is remembered as a much simpler way of life, even then. Happy days. 😀
The complexity of this music is really satisfying. Modern music…not so much. I was listening to a recent song today and it was really just a chorus with the variation provided by a change in tempo and pitch of the singer’s voice. This is the modern day dross we hafta put up with.
Cela me rappelle plus ma jeunesse…. je travaillais en pâtisserie….. cette chanson est super…❤❤❤❤
This song has been stuck in my head for days.
Seeing this video makes me realize it's more 70's than I expected.
My Dad died of syphilis and this song was what he wanted played at his funeral

Classic
I haven't heard this in a long time. May 2024.
65 and still love it.
I was only 4 when this was out, but today at 49 it reminds me of something I'm not even aware of but makes me so emotional. It's hard to listen to for some reason.
Great record
So many memories come flooding back when I hear this song…some good, some bad, all filled with 1970’s angst. I love this song.

So many destination, faces going to so many places
Where the weather is much better and the food is so much cheaper
Well, I help her with her baggage for her baggage is so heavy
I hear the plane is ready by the gateway to take my love away
And I can't believe that she really wants to leave me
And it's getting me so, it's getting me so
Airport
Airport, you've got a smiling face
You took the one I love so far away
Fly her away, fly her away
Airport
Airport, you've got a smiling face
You took my lady to another place
Fly her away, fly her away
The plane is on the move and the traces of the love we had in places
Are turning in my mind, how I wish I'd been much stronger
For the wheels are turning faster as I hear the winds are blowing
I know that she is leaving on the jet plane way down the runaway
And I can't believe that she really wants to leave me
And it's getting me so, it's getting me so
Airport
Airport, you've got a smiling face
You took the one I love so far away
Fly her away, fly her away
Airport
Airport, you've got a smiling face
You took my lady to another place
Fly her away, fly her away
And I can't believe that she really wants to leave me
And it's getting me so, it's getting me so
Airport
Airport, you've got a smiling face
You took my lady to another place
Fly her away, fly her away
Airport
Airport, you've got a smiling face
You took my lady to another place
Fly her away, fly her away
Airport
Airport, you've got a smiling face
You took the one I love so far away
Fly her away, fly her away
Airport

Fly her away, fly her away
Airport

Fly her away, fly her away
Forgot all bout this gem till tik tok reminded me today!
This classic was played by Gary Davies on the BBC pick of the pops today looking back to the charts in June 1978. that era seems a life time ago, yet this and the other songs sound modern
Given Eurovision seems to be no longer about music talent and many 70s groups still performing it shows the talent this group had had stood the passage of time.
Have this song on MP3 in the car
How on earth hadn't i heard this song before? Was watching the 70s channel on fetch tv and this song came on. I thought it sounded alright. Saw it again a couple of days later and I was hooked. Straight to youtube to get my fix every day after that. Fantastic song.
Sad memories for me when I knew I had lost (out of love) a lovely girl from Ewell, Surrey, this haunts me from that time.
Magnifique 🎉🥰
Last I heard, that Andy (the lead singer and keyboard player ) was in a care home ? dx
