You’re going to make me go there today 😭
You've gotta try Great Fountain Fast Food! HK style.
Pacific Mall is a good place to walk around.
A bunch of food spots all along Midland Ave from Finch Ave E up to McNicoll Ave.
15:21 This little shop was great. Her daughter taking over to answer lots of questions was awesome!
I feel like you get more genuine answers from younger Chinese people, who are more integrated.
Best Food ever
Will you visit Pacific Mall too? Like this place too.
And when you do caribbean food I hope you stop by Chadon beni and Drupaties ( i love their doubles )for Trinidadian food. And visit Old Bahamas where Keith Lee went.
And visit the Latina Plaza for Latin food.
Loved the lady at the Study & Immigration centre – Did anyone notice at 37:07 – '' Congratuations' on the certificates and also at 37:18 – No L in it?
David are you sure you are in Markham? That looks like Richmond hill. My son used to live there. He has a friend who went to University with him and he lives there. I could be wrong but it looked so much like Richmond hill. The barbecue spare ribs are very good too. There is a large Chinese area in Scarborough between Warden and Victoria Park around Pacific Mall. I used to live there but when the Queen hand back Hong Kong to the main land they came to Canada and bought out that area. I sold my house for three times it was worth at Warden and Steeles. The Old Chinese are the dirty generations from long ago. They lived in the Caribbean, but the new generation I find they have to been very clean because of the standards of the restaurants and food shop they have to followed, but in Spadina area are the old generation where the real dirty ones are. You must visit Dubai for real good Chinese food. I love Hakka Chinese very spicy. It derives from the Chinese living in India. You will think you are in China but they lived in Indian, listen to Indian songs etc. Try some Hakka food. I don’t live in Toronto anymore. I lived in St. David’s Niagara Falls. We don’t have any Chinese here , even if there is one or two they are not good.
My son is a paramedic in Toronto but, he lived in China for six years. When he misses the food he goes to Markham! There are so many places there that have excellent Chinese food from many different provinces. Pro Tip if you are learning Mandarin or speak it as a learned language and want to keep up or practice? Go to Markham.
Chinese foods ….one of my all-time favorite …fried rice….noodles….stir/fry veges….fried chicken….just the best!!!…..I'm taking a note of the restaurants so when I visit Toronto will know where to dine…. beautiful as always…Thanks David safe travels….Peace and Blessings.

Pita Golden Pocket is gonna be the highlight of the entire food tour if they are ok to be on camera. Oh yea and that shawarma place is on hwy 7 on the west side close to Keele – https://maps.app.goo.gl/DPnSmGj4tE1xxVD76

Why’s he wearing 2 watches????
My wife's hangout. Those 2 bbq places always had a lineup, and it switches between the 2. But I go for pho. My wife goes for Fusion for Hong Kong teahouse items.
Ok, a little bit of history. Downtown Chinatown was originally behind where city hall is. I think the community vacated (around the time the City Hall was being built) and mixed up with the Jewish community of Kensington market, where downtown Chinatown sits. As those generations got more money, they moved more east. Some settled in East Chinatown (Broadview and Gerrard area), and into North Scarborough, and the rich took up residence in Markham and Richmond Hill. This process happened over the course of at least a good 80 years. My maternal grandfather was a cook for Lychee Gardens, one of the first high class Chinese restaurants in the city located in Old Chinatown, back in the 50s. My paternal grandparents were more based in Scarborough, and moved more out to Markham and Richmond Hill.
Where in Toronto was this?
