U.S. Vice-President Kamala Harris has outlined her economic plan for the nation, focusing on consumers and addressing various key aspects of the economy. The plan includes measures such as a federal ban on price gouging on groceries, lowering the costs of essential medications like insulin, and tackling the national housing shortage by building 3 million new affordable homes.
Harris has also proposed providing $25,000 to first-time homebuyers to help with down payments on new homes, as well as offering tax relief to families through an expansion of the child tax credit and earned income tax credit. She aims to provide $6,000 in tax relief to families during the first year of a child’s life.
In addition to these measures, Harris plans to lower health insurance premiums through the Affordable Care Act and emphasized her commitment to giving money back to working and middle-class Americans, contrasting her approach with what she describes as President Donald Trump’s focus on billionaires and large corporations.
By unveiling this economic plan, Harris is positioning herself as a candidate who prioritizes the needs of everyday Americans, promising to support consumers and provide relief to struggling families. As the Democratic nominee for president, she is making a strong case for a more inclusive and equitable economic policy agenda.
