Challenges Pakistani Children Must Overcome to Attain Education: FRANCE 24 English

In Pakistan’s Punjab province, the start of the new school year has shone a light on the challenges faced by children in accessing education. With more than 26 million children out of school in Pakistan, the majority of them being girls, the country holds the unfortunate title of having the second-highest number of out-of-school children in the world.

The issue has become so severe that the prime minister of Pakistan declared a state of emergency regarding access to education back in May. However, despite this declaration, no concrete actions have been taken to address the issue.

The lack of access to education in Pakistan not only hinders the personal development and growth of these children but also impacts the overall progress and development of the country. Without proper education, these children are at risk of being stuck in a cycle of poverty and limited opportunities for the rest of their lives.

It is clear that urgent and decisive action is needed to ensure that all children in Pakistan have access to quality education. The future of the country depends on it.
